Such great times to be missed. You know when I first started playing Bad Company 2, I was reminded of The Matrix Online. If you look on the Weapons and Gadgets page, in the "All Kits" Section -- I believe it's the bottom page but one of the Weapons is actually a Submachine gun from MxO.

I have to admit, it brought back a good 30 minutes of solid memories from MxO before I hard to force myself to think of something else lol.

I still can not believe it's gone.. :(

Furious since 2006.

Best memory = DC meeting for the end of game. Not that the end of game was a good thing, but hanging out in the real was the best thing to come of mxo and FA. Good times.

Five years since it was released.  Six years since it was announced.  :)  And congrats on four years, Ana!

That being said:

6-sheeeezus-christ-years.  I remember changing my work schedule for this game.  I asked my boss if I could give up my lunch break so that I could leave an hour early.  I didn't tell him why, but he agreed anyway.  I still have that schedule to this day.  :D

Too many memories to speak of.  My first live event interaction was when Niobe called an org meeting in Debir Court.  I was listening to what she was saying, spreading dissent about the Merv, but I closely watched Tbone and Broin standing silently out on the edge of the crowd.  Two months later, I would be accepted into the faction.

I solo-missioned in Eshean Projects for weeks to reach 50.  The whole neighborhood was always empty.  Until one evening when I was making my way back to the Eshean East hardline to complete a mission, where a group of Machines were waiting.  All five of them interlocked me and took me down in a matter of seconds.

"Ah, damnit.", I said over TS.

"What's up?", someone said.  I think it was Fuse.  I was still learning everyone's voices.

"A bunch of Machines just zerged me."

"Where?"

"Eshean East hardline. Don't worry about it. I'll mission somewhere else."

Before I knew it, and without a word, ten FA flooded through the hardline and wiped them out in a heartbeat.  I was amazed, grateful, and laughing my ass off.  That experience showed me the kind of people I had found, and I hope in my years since then I've been able to return the favor.

I miss the game so much.  For all its flaws, the one thing it did well was provide the player with a rich world in which to create their own story.  And we, as a faction and as individuals, did just that.

I have been avoiding this thread, mainly because I did not want to admit to myself exactly how much I missed this game and just how much I regretted choosing other things instead of playing it as much as I wanted. In the long run, yes, I had a "life" outside the game, but that life has faded. The life after that one has faded. And throughout all those phases the one constant has been the Furious Angels. I would have our logo tatooed on me if it were not such bad luck.

Sometimes at night I still dream as if I'm in the Matrix, onboard as a crewmember of the Libertas. These are things I do not share very often, but I do have them. I play out these scenarios in my head of interactions, events, day to day life on board. And realistically enough, I can still feel the excitement in my fingers, the sounds, of logging in. I can still hear the clicks... the audio... of just loggin in and jackin in... the slight dissorientation of it all. The sounds and the feel will never leave me. So long as I have you all to reminisce with.

My God I do miss it. The first time I ever really had a place was as Lits in the Matrix. And I do not forget.

Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

As did I. I can promise you one thing, Lits, if YOU tattooed it on yourself, it would not bring bad luck  ;)  you always have a home here.

Anyways, I didn't know if I wanted to add to this thread or not as I miss it a lot too but I have a couple.

The end of Beta was easily one of my favorite parts of the actual game. Radio Free Zion blazing, mythical Angels (the kind I could only dream to one day join) flying in and out all over Mega City's hardlines, Agents spawning everywhere to cleanse their fictitious world of its human inhabitants and one final meatwad. Not only easily the best dev-controlled aspect of the entire game, but it signaled the official beginning.

From there I skip all the way to the nearing of the first anniversary of the game, where Adad decided to try his hand for a second time at the trials of the Angel. With the help of a fellow ex-Priory of Zion member, Dagonet, he finally earned himself an interview with this mysteriously powerful faction. Utterly excited and overwhelmed to meet Tbone, Adad was actually first introduced to Broin. Somehow this man escaped Adad's knowledge this entire time, he had only heard rumors of his abilities and impact on this "world". Along with a group of Angels' voices, Broin conducted Adad's interview which, a few days later, lead to his induction into the greatest faction in Zion by the one and only Tbone.

Many many memories ensue here, too many to recall individually, but they all had a few things in common. Friendships were forged, fun was had, and Red ass was kicked.

Flash to the end.

With only a couple weeks until the Agents were ready to dismantle this place for the "final" time, a large group of us Angels decide to finally meet in the Real. Though we only knew each other by voice, once in person, we immediately gelled as if we were all life-long best friends. We teamed together to put one final stamp on the Matrix and go down with the system together. After which we all drank...a lot.

I drank the most.
