Classic Black and White War Movies on Blu-Ray

I am doing some research for a gift for someone.  We need old classic black and white war movies on Blu-Ray.....preferably movies about the Navy.  As I am not a huge fan of this genre I am at a bit of a disadvantage of where the best places are to search and what some of the best movies would be.

The one classic war movie that I liked as a kid.....because it was Clint Eastwood....was "Where Eagles Dare".

If anyone can give me some ideas of classic b&w War movies and if you know where I can find them on Blu-Ray, I would greatly appreciate it.

Das Boot is a great naval (submarine) war movie. Ill edit if i can think of others. Also if they dont all have to be black and white check out Tora Tora Tora and The Caine mutiny. The original Caine mutiny was in black in white.

I see this movie was released in 1981, so I'm assuming that it is not black and white.....?

what movie?I'm talking about original's not remakes. Though Tora Tora Tora is color, but the other two shouldn't be if you buy the originals.

ah ok.  I've heard about Das Boot, but I've never seen it.
