I'm going to go live with our Facebook promotion. It will discuss our plans to play APB and SWTOR and let them know that they are the first to know that our website is open for registration and they are given a special invitation to apply if they would like to join us in one or both of these games.

Maybe we'll get a few new recruits from this, so be ready for interviews and such!

Basically, I need people to look at http://apb.thefuriousangels.com and let me know when it is good enough that we can start pointing people there. Once everyone feels it's good enough, I'll make an official post on the recruitment forum at APB Evolved and maybe some other fan sites (and possibly get External to make a post in the APB forums). After I make that post, then you can start recruiting for APB.

-"If you're hear to get your kitty out of a tree, you've come to the wrong place. "
First of all, great line. I lol'd. Second, it should be "here" not "hear". =)

-I'm not a big fan of the boxes in the background of the text area. Especially with a scrolling marquee as an overlay. Maybe a transparent FA angel would be good in that background - especially since we don't really have a full version of it, only the partial in the banner.

-I'm generally not a fan of scrolling marquee's, but if it's placed just abover the title line, it would look allright.

-The format of the site is nice, but has no real value to a player = that's really what followtheangel.org/thefuriousangels.com is for. Is there a plan to integrate some of the features here into apb.tfa.com? Like the History page actually supplying historical info about us from our history page here? What use will the report a crime or academy have?

It's a good looking site so far. I can't wait to get the ok to show it off to some people...

One other thing in regaurds to recruiting.... How are we to recruit for our own crews? When you finally give the go-ahead can we post our own threads to different forums? I think it would be silly to have one FA thread and all the captains making post after post "pick me!" - "no, pick me!".

The APB side of things is meant to be just roleplay - no actual information about our history as a gaming guild.

I might be open to having our registered information be shown to even unregistered users (so you can go to thefuriousangels.com and see history, media, etc. without having to register to the site).

We have a transparent angel that we were using for the background. I think I like it better as well. Yeah, the marquee is stupid - was just trying to play up the mock part of the site a bit.

We need out recruitment for each crew. The problem is that if we have 8 different threads on the forums for recruiting in our guild (one for each crew), we're gonna get shut down fast. I think the best option is to keep recruitment centralized to one thread and then show your crew love on that. Otherwise we're going to be the "spam guild".

Personally, I think the old method of our crews worked best.. Specialties.. each crew had a specialty whether it was PvP, RP, Recruiting... I mean, overall we were all good in all areas but we still had primary focus' on different areas.. I think that would go a long way in keeping us as one unit but highlighting the differences in the crews.. Of course I think it will be up to the captain and Lt to come up with its particular crew's speciality or focus..
Just my two cents..

Training crew, perhaps?

After the 2 week trial, the new recruit then selects what crew they'd like to be in after they've learned about all the different ones.

That information can then be kept on our forums. We don't want our recruitment thread to get spammed by ourselves saying, "Pick me! No, pick me!".

It worked well in MXO, it'll work well in SWTOR/APB.

The problem with the training crew was that it added in an extra step and Bellthazor wasn't around enough to keep track of the trainees. I'd rather them spend their two weeks in their actual crew and then have the captain report back to me about it.

As for RP/PvP crews, that won't work in APB. The game is so fast paced and based in PvP (imagine having an RP crew for TF2...you get the idea). We can still RP, but 99% of the time you'll be too busy dodging bullets. I'm still seeing what a good way to divide APB crews might be (drivers, snipers, tanks,...meh..).

As for SWTOR, the idea was to possibly have Jedi crews and Republic crews. Jedi crews would be for those playing Jedi and Republic would be those playing the other classes. This would, however, make the crews not very diverse.

In the end, there wasn't much difference between the RP and PvP crews. This time around I was thinking it could just be based on the personality of the crew. Once we know more about the game, we'll have a better idea.

So to sum up, this time around we're looking for each crew to be diverse enough to defend itself, assuming most of the members are present?

For individual crew personalities, perhaps we should have each of the captains write up a little something (RP or otherwise, just for the sake of summariazing their intentions and overall crew goal attitude. New recruits can browse these to make their descisions, as well as speaking to as many crew members as possible. This way we can ensure that each crew has a distinct personality, which has been a cornerstone of keeping FA strong.

The summaries would be kept inhouse, of course, and visible only after a new recruit was accepted.
