From someone in the beta, LotRO sucks as an independent game, and is borrowing too much from WoW, but not enough to make a good game yet.

He's right you know, Blizz didn't just luck out, they knew damn well what they were doing and made a great game.

Meh... i gave up on MMO's... to be honest if you've played one, you've played all.

I got to about level 27 as a night elf rogue and was bored... It reminded me alot of EQ 1 and 2.

My friend gave me his Trial since he got bored of it before it was done. Plus i just don't have the time for MMO's so ... meh.

WoW will be the top MMO for a long time to come. You also have to understand there are books, and other games about Warcraft before this game. their fan base is huge. The content and end game fun is the best ever created. I have many Lv. 60's on WoW 6 to be exact. The game is just an all around kick ass product. Take a survey. the reason people bash WoW isn't becuase its fantasy. hell MxO is fantasy aswell. The most common responce is it "too cartoony" people want to feel IN the game. they want to see sweat and tears in their chars eyes. they was veins that pulse, scars that come and heal. if its not "real" as in next gen terms people will hate it regardless of everything it may have to offer.

Oh yeah that was the other thing I was going to add, the game runs on both Mac and Windows, and i just checked and WoW is basically the only MMO that is good at all on the Mac so that brings in its own group of gamers.
