On the bright side, you can start your own division of Pixar!

I thought they were $800. Musta came down for the holidays.

Probably need at least a 600watt power supply? Maybe 700watt, that might be much? Plus it takes 2, 6-pin ins each? Well I guess it does come with a splitter but still... thats a lot.

Don't believe everything you think.

nah lol the day they came out which is when i got mine it was 659 so yeah it went down but only 20 bucks or so and well if you have 2 of those you need 600 to 700 watts atleast.. each one uses near 300 watts when maxed out.  I have a 700 watt gaming psu and yes each one has to have 2 power connections... you can get splitters if you dont have 4 power connections but not the best idea in the world.

My ATI Radeon X1900XT takes one of those small connector deals, too. I use a 650W Power Supply, and it does the trick beautifully. Just for safety's sake, though, you may want to get one of the bigger ones (ie. a 700-800W) since it can screw up the card if it's not getting enough power. I recall that I didn't plug the small connector jobber in all the way when I first installed my Radeon and whenever I ran MxO my machine would beep and bitch at me, the graphics would be shot to hell, the frame rates sucked, etc.

So, yeah, if you're gonna be shouldering that much Graphics Processing Power you may want to make sure you have an excess of power. Better to have more than you need, than not enough.

Just remember to have a processor that can handle the 8800gtx. I have seen benchmarks where the processor can bottleneck the gpx card, thus you don't really gain as much by upgrading.

yeah the thing is pretty cpu dependent meaning the better cpu you have the better fps you will have which is true with any video card but its amplified with this one.
