A few months ago in my neighborhood someone was murdered over here too. It really made me sick; a grandfather murdered his granddaughter then killed himself. It freaked me out since you figure that stuff like that never happened near you.

I can understand a bit of what it is like, though I never really go to experience it first-hand like you did.

Well If we're talking about sick occurances that you never think can happen to you.... My very good friend ( I call her my twin ) was eating at the IHOP across the street from campus one night about three months ago. It was about 3am and she was sitting right next to the window when a bunch of people started gathering in the parking lot, apparently there was a fight or something, anyway she and her boyfriend had a front row seat to see this guy get his head blown off when this other guy shot him square in the face. I don't think she's recovered yet.

Smoking IS bad for you... being a good samaritan is not

Interesting stories. But you have to watch out when you do sit in the car and play on your laptop if you plan on becoming a cop though, Jeyk.

Another depressing story:

My Uncle's best friend was Florida Highway Patrol and after giving a drunk driver a ticket, he stayed on the side of the highway to watch a little bit of a movie on his laptop. About 10 mins later, another drunk driver swerved off the highway and slammed right into the back of his cruiser. The crusier burst into flames on impact and flew about 50 feet down the side of the highway. The car was engulfed in flames for hours and they couldn't get near the car to put it out because the live ammunition in the trunk was going off. Needless to say, he didn't make it and of course the F'ing drunk driver lived.

So, you really have to watch out where you do that kind of stuff if you do decide to do it; pick a safe place.
