So, I'm sitting here, holding my MxO Game Card in my hand. I'm fucking excited as hell. So, I whip out a penny and start scratching to get me code. Apparently, I have the strength of 10 men, as 2 of the numbers/letters have come of with my scratching...only 2.

So, now, this card has been rendered rather useless as I'm unable to figure out what the final 2 numbers are. I'll keep trying...but, oh my God...so pissed right now

i was going to say it should be easy to figure up the last 2 numbers, try to find the microscopic shavings of the stuff and put it back together.

I tried brute forcing that shit, but it gave me "You have exceeded the number of times allowed for key consumption, please contact Customer Service".

I called tech support and they issued me a new card after proving that the card I had was indeed legit and I wasn't fucking them over...I got off the phone with them, and suddenly remembered that I needed them to input the key for me since I can no longer enter the key myself...so, I'm waiting in a queue right now for Live Chat Support, since Phone Support isn't available after 1:30PM PST.

Here's hoping...

You: Yes, I know this is causing quite a lot of problems, and I'm sorry. And I tried the new key about an hour or so ago
You: I couldn't hardly understand the woman who gave me the replacement key, so I hope I got it right. Is there a way I can give you the key and you can enter it for me, so I don't have to keep hopping from tech support to tech support?
TSR Syrus M.: may I check the key again?
You: Yeah, let me get it

TSR Syrus M.: hold on please
You: Alright, thanks
TSR Syrus M.: Seems there is a typo>?
You: I'm not sure

You: I'd just like to use my birthday present (This game card), so I can finally play my game again

TSR Syrus M.: if you give me the correct game card key I can help you right now
You: I told you...I tried to write down the number the woman gave me, but I could barely understand her. The key I gave you is what I could understand of her. I don't know whether or not its incorrect, because she told me it over the phone as a replacement

No, unfortunately. I have a working key, I just can't enter it. I tried entering the key after 5PM as instructed, and it still gives me the error...so now I have to try and catch the live chat services tonight between 1 and 2 AM in an effort to get them to just unlock my fucking account or lock in the key for me. Seriously, I can see how this would discourage people from playing this game

well technically they recalled the game and the cards, your lucky you got one, but since not very many people buy them...

Those cards are a pain in the ass... My girlfriend just gave up on MxO... After all that time of convincing her to play :( Oh well we are playing WoW together now :P But seriously, if you have any possible way other than getting cards.. do it... Aside from the risk of accidentlily scratching digits off of a card, their system is buggy as HELL!!! My girl bought a card... gets excited, goes home, puts the code in, incorrect... She bitches to SOE, they tell her there's nothing they can do, she got all the way up to the top Tech Support person... and they basicly told her to go screw herself because she doesnt have a scan of the receipt.. So she goes to buy another, and thinking it will work, accidentily throws the receipt away with the bag. Doesnt work. Thats 60 bucks down the hole because SOE wont take a scan of the card's front and back sides.. they insist on having the receipt from the store it was purchased from....... I know its partly her fault for not keeping better track of the receipts but they really should be able to tell you arent fucking them another way than scanning a (highly photoshopable) piece of paper.... Frankly I'm not to fond of SOE .... and their english sucks (worse than mine if you can possibly believe it) (You should hear some of the in game Devs they hired.. oh my)

WTF, if it was wrong, how did it know it was wrong and lock the correct one, or did they lock you account out?

They lock his account from trying again. Im pretty sure that measure was invented to stop brute force programs from just running different combos until it came up with something.
