Hey guys - as some of you may know, im back studying full time now doing my final year, and due to the timezone thing, you probably havn't seen me around much lately :-( - but you better believe, im still buzzing away doing what i can whilst you guys are sleeping - and to make up for my absence, i've organised and launched the official furious angels hq :-) - well its not really launched yet (this is FA post only, and i'll leave it to tbone or someone else to advertise it if they wish) - but i noticed that the only way the clan communicates is through AIM (genearlly in/out game, boards and TS - sometimes if your stuying, cooking dinner, watching tv, anything, you cant go on TS to just "chat", or even talk to new recruits, whatever - so i've organised an official, 24/7 room on the irc.radiofreezion.com server. this server also features rooms from other clans such as the collective, the sacred order, radiofreezion (also the offical radiofreezion server) and so on. you can join this server by using mirc, and connection to irc.radiofreezion.com (or if that fails) irc.mivabe.nl for a direct route, you then join #furiousangels. a rule for RFZ rooms is that you need an RFZ member to "control" the room so to speak. but since i'm a DJ there, i've been granted full op access, and am allowed to pass on access to specific FA members where deemed neccessary. now of course its not, and i no way think its my decision who gets that access, i'll leave that to the "higher powers" - but i think its definately a good move. of course giving Tbone full Op access, i propose maybe each Captain gets Op access, allowing ops online through different timezones and well u get the idea - but thats just a suggestion - tbone and whoever else can decide. so if you wanna sit down and have a chat, maybe talk to some new people, and i also think we should advertise this room to try and get people in there and talking, i can also add the link fo the FA video into the chat topic - but that can all be worked out in due time :-)

Also I don't knwo much about the bots, but if it involves keeping a user in there the majorady of the time, I can offer up my comp. We may also be able to talk to SDog about that on RFZ servers?

I believe this idea was discussed a few months ago, and was shot down for a few reasons.

First, why is it on the RFZ IRC server? Why can't it be on Stratics, which has many more users on it than RFZ's does, allowing for many people who already use Stratics to just enter in whenever they please? Second, what is the reason to have an FA IRC channel? We don't need it to contact our fellow factionmates, since we have forums, TS, and in-game to do that, so I fail to see a reason as to why it would make sense to have one. People interested in FA need only contact one of our members ingame to be put in touch with the right people. This faction has always tried to create some type of mystery around it, and opening up a a public IRC channel just destroys it.

for starters, no-one said it had to be public (one of the reasons, that i didn't post this publicly, i even said that). but this clan has no-where where people can simply just "chat" with each other about things, the game, life, whatever - not eveyrone can use TS at the same time, or due to timezone restrictions (not everyone can use TS at 2am and wake up the whole house) AIM isn't the greatest for group chats, and jacking in whilst trying to do other things, just to have a chat, is not always the easiest thing to do.

the reason its on an RFZ server is because its something i can gain admin rights to, and give to other clan members (which im sure can be achieved in time @ stratics) but it was at my disposal, and since i wanted to do a favour for the clan in return for my absence, this seemed like the best option. stratics would also take much longer to organise, and i'd be willing to bet any amount that when the time comes (launch, and maybe even just before), the RFZ irc server will be loaded a heap more with matrix fans than the stratics server will be.

talk about negativity.
