(I plan on writing a few simple newbie FAQs on things that I didn't initially understand in order to share information.  I'll be editing this as I play and I'd appreciate any further info you guys have.  I'm also creating a thread with a list of questions for those of you who may have more knowledge with this stuff.)

Abilities

How to Level an Ability  Yes, as you level up you can increase the level, and subsequently the effectiveness, of your abilities.  This is also the way that you distinguish your "path" - Operative, Hacker or Coder - since later abilities will require that you have a certain level in your core abilities.  

In order to increase the level of your ability, you must first open up your Ability Window.  From there you will see a listing of your currently available abilities.  Right click on the ability you wish to raise and if you have the right amount of information it will raise that ability one level.

You cannot increase the level of an ability above your current character level.

How to Purchase an Ability At present you obtain new abilities from NPC vendors.  These vendors can be found around the Mara church.   You can also purchase items, clothing, and fragments.

In order to use or equip your new ability, you will need to go to the loading screen.  At the loading screen, first go to your Equipment Panel and drag the newly available ability code to the storage area on the left.  Next go to your Abilities Panel load the new ability into your memory list on the left.

There are ability vendors in nearly every district - you just have to look for them.
