When i play vanguard in alderaan, voisstar and novare coast i like to jump into the middle of the group blow my aoe taunt and debuff their damage by 4% with explosive surge pop my aoe stun then target either a healer or a sniper trying to sit away from the group and then just keep interupting them while bring them down.  All the time I'm watching my healers health bar ready to jump to his aid should he need it,  it makes me laugh when they are all wailing away at my healer who i have guarded and my taunts are never off cooldown all in all im reducing over 70% of the damage directed to my healer and then mitigating away alot of the damage transfered through gaurd. In hutt ball i generally hand around the middle guarding who ever grabs the ball and escorting them to the elbow, if the sage on the elbow is getting harrased ill jump over and keep them covered to recieve the ball but generally i'll stay center and just shuttle people over to the elbow taunting anyone that attacks and keeping the middle clear with acid pulls and aoe stuns

The tank/healer combo is pretty powerful and one I'm still trying to figure out how to take down. If you attack the healer, they take almost no damage and can heal through it. If you attack the tank, tey take almost no damage and the healer heals them through it. Like you said, the most common problem is focusing on the healer in that scenario. I think you need to burn the tank first, but you still have to keep the healer distracted.

You need people with many CCs. I can burn a healer if I play resolve wisely.

Mind Maze (60s - OOCombat)
Force Stun (4sec)
Spinning Kick (2sec)
Force Pull (Instant)
Mind Snap (Instant)
Force Wave (Instant)

Yes, shadows are overpowered if they can learn to use these wisely.

If I'm forced to fight the non-healer, I will juggle my stuns. If not, I focus more on my breaks to avoid maxing their resolve, saving my stuns for the last few moment when they're kicking off their defensive cds and last ditch heals.

Bottom line: always run with a partner. Between two people managing ability breakers, it shouldn't be too hard to drop a healer. At worst, you'd be 1v1 against the extra imp.

Maze/Tranq only works for 8secs in PVP.
