SPORE: Anyone Buy This?
« on: September 27, 2008, 03:36:30 pm »
Just wondering if anyone here has Spore.  Yes, i broke down and bought this game and it is entertaining.  The creation tools are probably the most fun of all.  The game play isn't bad either, but being able to see your creations being used in game and shared with other people online is cool.

If any of you have this game, it would be fun to see some of your creations as well.

I'm in the same boat as Fuse.  I thought I'd have a blast in the Space stage, but it's quite boring.  The fact of the matter is, space is incomprehensibly huge and there's not a lot to do.

I haven't played in about a week or so.

I finally just got my solar system under control. Time to defeat the Grox and head to the center of the galaxy.

I downloaded it, so I don't have any online content. I got to the center of the galaxy, but the universe phase is just stupid. It's hard to get anything done b/c you are constantly having to defend what you've already built up. I basically sacrificed my entire empire to spend the time to get to the center.

It took me awhile(about 6 hours), but I finally got my solar system fully under control, it really helps just having your allies attack your enemies, then you clean up the mess...
Its fun when your sworn enemies are suddenly your allies...

Also, a lot of the battles will just go on their own, I mostly just take care of my home planet and even then not always.

Same story here. Blazed through the first four stages, (though the most memorable for me was the Creature stage) got to Space, logged off, and haven't had the compulsion to log back in for a week or two now.

I love his reviews....even if I don't agree with all of them.  Strangely, I agree with most.
