the seraphim order is nothing to worry about, we should just keep them in check but i dont like the post by samuraione, i dont want to sound paranoid, but maybe we should watch who we accept a little more closely

There will always be immature flammers on our recruitment threads... whether we choose to warn them or not, we should leave that to the captains or Tbone... I will now keep a very close eye on our recruitment thread and notify Tbone of any problems etc...

Hmm...Samuraione is an alias for someone who is trying to remain protected. His first post is the one he made on our thread, so obviously he goes by a different name. I haven't received any new applications. He might already be in the faction, but it doesn't really matter. I figured we'd have a few spies. We don't really have any vital information to hide at this point. Unless he attempts something illegal like hacking the site and deleting it, we're ok. If he does do that, we'll just have him arrested and see if he's still laughing. The only other way to hurt us is to spread propaganda to hurt our name. We'll see how this one turns out. Perhaps it's time to start a counter-espionage unit...

Being that this isn't the first time someone has tried to flame us it doesn't shock me. Things like this will happen especially when you're one of the largest factions on the boards. Not to mention we've also kept such a mysterious air about who we are, this would lead to the reasoning of why to flame us. So that they can get an immature repsonse out of us as some form of blackmail. The Furious Angels have done something the other factions haven't done and to some degree it frightens them whether they choose to accept it or deny it.

As far as the counter-espionage unit Tbone what would you have in mind. Sounds rather interesting to me but then again I think we need some more feedback on that subject.

This is exactly why I think we need to ask for people's mxo member names on the application form. Not that it will help us with this incident now, but it will help us sort of weed out the future or possible future spies/hackers/sabotagers/whatever. I know you might be thinking well it's not their fault if they don't post much, or it's not thier fault if they didn't join early. BUT honestly figure it out, someone with a name that's posted about 4 times...has joined relatively recent to the time of the application, or even a while off and still has a relatively low post count, are likely to be false names, or misleading accounts. I think it would be better if the mxo screenname was asked on the application, and before that application was accepted we looked and figured out everything.

I'm more inclined to worry about samuraione, as he could be one of our guys, that's actually not one of our guys. As for Mr. Cubiccentimeter .... uhh I just think he's a joke, mostly because of the way he replied. He doesn't know how to make a threat, and I would advise him how to make a credible one. Although we can't underestimate any of our enemies.

It IS interesting though that samuraione would put samurai in his name...seeing as how we have talked about samurais before. This can be a clue as to whether or not he's actually in this faction, but then again on the other hand it can just be a coincedence...I say that we ask a dev to either delete cubic's post, and/or lock the thread. Either would be effective.

As for all of that we are behind your back stuff all I have to say is..................two can play that game.

I think the counter-espionage response is definitely warranted.  There's no reason to think they wouldn't do it to us given the chance.  Like you said, there could be a few doing it already.  I thinks its a necessary add-on to our resume.  The final say I think should fall on Tbone, as always, but perhaps with the council of his captains in private.
