FasArma best option...told others to come up with ideas and post. We'll take a vote on top three.


Design ideas for main site and ARG site

Encouraged everyone to submit ideas for design much like Manic's rough sketch (showed his as example). Emphasized that we want to stick with the white theme and make it more flashy for the new FA site, and that the ARG site would look like a clean, polished company site.


Start rough sketch of site

The idea is that once we get a server up for the new sites, Tbone can start piecing together a rough version of the sites, essentially without the design but just the content. This might help spark design ideas and more content/puzzles.


Updates on Game

TheSorrows had a few updates which he posted on the Agency thread. Ana mentioned The Agency would be part of a conference on the 20th and that new information might be provided there. Tbone advised that we keep track of new fansites.

Secret Weapon

Discussed what weapon was being built. Nuke? Germ warfare? Type of weapon could affect type of company. No real decision made.

Foundation of new FA site

Lithium suggests phpbb3 and to custom build on that. Design would be done basically from scratch, save the forum design.

Building the Site

FasArma.org should be bought later tonight. Server space created for ARG site. Broin and gang worked on company roster/bios. Asked Manic to work on more detailed version of his computer terminal design for FA site.

Design Submissions

Made a thread called "Design Submissions" for people to submit rough sketches of designs for the new sites. Manic says it would help him a lot to see what other people like and envision.

Manic's idea so far for the FA site is a 21st century, sleek style computer terminal. So there would be computer jargon and a login into the network.

Domain is open. You can go there to see html content at the moment. Always need people to help fill out the pages of projects, bios, mission statements, etc. Need to figure out a way to get professional looking images without paying for them or having copyright problems.

Other Development

While the other developers were not at the meeting, last I talked to them they were all working on things, so hopefully when they have time they'll have cool stuff to show us.

Talking to myself

Well, I'm the only one here, but it's the weekend, so I imagine everyone is enjoying themselves. I've been busy myself spending time with my brother who got in town on Friday, so my development has slowed a bit as well. Taking a look back on the week, however, I'm not disappointed. We've got the domain set up, and everyone has had something to show or work on. More people are getting involved - I'm seeing a lot of activity in the Design Submission thread, which is exciting. Everyone seems to be finding the places where they can help out the most. Perhaps we could further divide up into teams - as long the left hand knows what the right is doing. I hope everyone is getting as excited as I am!

FasArma Intro

Current intro is too obvious. Keep audio normal and glitch out letters. Letters could be "help me", "look deeper", or the first clue such as "bio" or "susan" RIGHT before the redirect.


Method of Spreading ARG

Debated method of distrubution. Eventually we came across the idea of finding emails of users on fansites and emailing from, example, "susan@fasarma.org" with the distress email OR an advertising email from the FasArma Corporation. The trick is to lightly let the people know soon enough that it has to do with The Agency.

Design, Content, Puzzle

Which do you do first? While we need to work on all of them, puzzle content is important to nail down to make sure design and content compliment it and don't make the puzzle elements too forced. We're going to create teams and each night at 8:30 we'll split off and work in teams. There will be a puzzle/content team and a design team.

I wasn't able to attend, but I was informed that not much was discussed. Throughout the day I was able to look at some flash things from Adad and Yotogi, involving the intro, color scheme, and buttons. Right now the logo in progress is a rotating globe being held up by a pair of hands.

Color Scheme

I'd really like to shoot for a white/blue color scheme to reflect many of the technology sites out there. I used www.linksys.com as an example. I feel like we can use the rust color at times when Lits has made edits to the site, so for instance a bio page regular is in white/blue but when you find the hidden link to the alternate bio site, it turns the rust/black or rust/silver, standing out from the rest of the layout.

Zero's Suggestion

Zero said that scary music should play when the girl says "help me". I just don't know about that guy.

Puzzle #1

Ana and I talked about making sure discussions for the first step of the puzzle stay ontrack. Development should be focused on getting more specific with the layout of that puzzle, rather than making dramatic changes. Please visit the thread having to due with Puzzle #1 to help us get the details ironed out so we can input the content!

FA Member Design

Manic is going to work on a design on Saturday when he has free time. He showed me this: http://www.wipeouthd.com/en_US/index.html as an example of what he has in mind. Seems to be the right direction.

Puzzle #1

I'm hoping to have the content of this done soon, at least to the point of being able to move on to Puzzle #2. We'll still need to do some fact checking and cleaning up (for instance, I'm not sure what the appropriate degrees and titles would be for people working in a company like this), but we can at least have a crappy version ready.

I was hoping to see a design from Manic as well as get a picture from Lits, but neither of them are around. Last weekend was pretty empty too, so I assume everyone has a life except me...heh. We've got the first piece of the puzzle almost nailed down, which means we're at a place where we can just keep adding on and building rather than talk about adding on and building. There's a rumor beta will start in summer, which I HIGHLY doubt, but we should be prepared to have something ready by the fall, so at the very least when a public community is started, we'll be ready.

Jeyk had an idea for some sort of way to access and peruse around the mainframe of the server - a type of hacking instrument you'd have to get used to. He also thought of having security camera feeds and having to find some sort of clue there.

Well, I got bombarded with a few family activities, so we haven't had a meeting the past few days. I put my computer in the shop today, and I'm not sure when I'll have it back, so that could put me out for another day or two. Tonight is the season finale of Lost anyway, so you know that's happening. Still, we've made good progress. Yotogi has his newest revisions to the ARG site for people to look at, I've about finished the content for puzzle #1, and Manic has been showing off some sketches for the new FA site.
