RF Online's Beta ended today. And you thought MxO's beta was bad. The Beta lasted a month total, and during the week of fileplanet beta, Tues-Friday was unplayable due to a login server error. I was able to grind to 30 and test PvP, but barely. It's an addicting game, but nothing impressive. It has out-of-date graphics and was poorly translated to English from its Korean version. The best thing the game has going for it is its PvP, with a war over valuable territory every 8 hours, a ranking system that defines best in race as well as top 5 (you even get your own race chat), and cold hard cash for PvP kills. Unfortunately I only had about two hours of it before beta closed (PvP is pointless until you reach level 30, which is where the game "really begins"). Definitely not gonna pay for this game, but it was fun for a distraction for a few days.

Like Tbone said, this game has many problems and an almost non-existent support team. There is almost no low level content except the grind, which really is not that bad if you can get a good group of 6-8 people farming high level mobs (Me and Tbone got to level 30 in about 3-4 days). The PvP is fun, but charger spamming makes it near impossible to kill your opponent 1 on 1 unless their finger slips.

It is a sad thing, because like MxO it had a lot of good ideas, but not a good dev team to pull it together. There is a HUGE amount of grammatical errors and it almost seems if the game was just run through a free online translator.

Like I said before though, this game has its good points. The whole war over territory and almost CTF like chip wars every 8 hours is great, but without a team to actually fix anything, this game is hardly worth paying 15$ per month.

Siege Launchers are still pure ownage. If they got one thing right, it was that.

Hmmm, I would not have been as disappointed as I am now if they at least pushed the release date back another month. It really needed tons more fixes.

Well, I wont be playing this game as of yet, but I will keep an eye on it to see if any changes for the better come.

:2'(  I came back to get on this morning only to find I had been disconnected and that the beta was over. I agree with everything Tbone and Tizona said except that grinding alone sucks ass.  I sadly was about a day behind them and didn't get my seige launcher.

Yeah, it was fun going back to the desire to achieve more. MxO needs to raise the cap to 100 or something...
