Video Test: Party at Masunume
« on: June 28, 2005, 12:30:48 am »
I finally got Premiere Pro working, so I created this quickly to test a few things. The video was captured in almost 1600x1200 and max settings in a highly populated area. As you can see, the film is pretty smooth and looks nice.

The beginning is done in Photoshop obviously it has flaws, but it was just a quick test to see how Photoshop and Premiere could be combined to potentially create scenes that wouldn't be possible by just filming in MxO.

The file is 2:15 and 14mb, so it appears I still need to do some tweaking on compression and whatnot.

Here's the link: http://liquiware.net/tbone/PartyTest.wmv

I'm uploading rather slow, so it'll still be another 45 minutes before it is completely uploaded. Let me know what you think (right size for filming the movies, etc.)

the whole part where you are walking down the stairs and a angel just walks by in regal mood was cool, I bet it wasnt even intended.

also was it decided you cant just zoom in past your head. Because honestly the height on the camera is like looking through the eyes of a giant. I mean its like your walking looks all good till you actualy get in the club then you are like towering them.

HA, that was great. I didn't know you were filming, we were actually in the middle of a worst dressed contest on the bottom of the stairs so good timing I guess hehe. That was real funny though, in the 2 mins that you were there, people flooded area chat with "Hey Tbone" and such and I guess that was why you weren't replying.

The video looks great. The text on the comp looks a bit out of place and too dark to be convincing but I'm just nitpicking about that. I'm sure with the match color tool and some tweaking of the filters you can blend it much better if you really wanted to. The camera was working great, although when you went into the VIP room and such, the camera tilted down and we could the top of your head. We have to remember not to do that cuz that would really mess up the whole filming process. Lastly, because of all the people, the video frames were moving fairly slowly at some points. I was surprised though, considering the amount of people in the area, I expected more lag so that was great.

This was a great test, but, as with any test, there is much room for improvement. However, as you said, this was a thrown together video and I'm sure with some time and some polish, we can make this work with minimal problems. Great job.

Looked good!  I have to agree with Khronik in the towering over people, A suggestion maybe: what if we were to film in sneak??  Your character would be ghosted, i realize but it would also be crouched down (more room to move the camera around?)  I don't know just an idea.

Other than that minor thing it was great!

HAH I saw me!! actually i think you walked right through me hehehe :p

I was the first Angel in the movie... the green hair gave it away.
I only saw the first 30-40 seconds or so last night when you were uploading. Looks nice so far. From those first few secnds I thougth it was still a bit choppy. It was very good for the area it was done in, though.

The problem with doing it in sneak is your speed being decreased dramaticly, even with speed maxed. Maybe try /mood aggressive ? With this camera trick that may be enough to make the camera lower than that, but still high enough to avoid the back of your head.

I was walking the whole time by holding shift. I could have gone faster if I wanted, but that would have made it more choppy and if I was actually filming a shot like that, I wouldn't go that fast. I would go slow like I was going.

*does the regal walk by* I was just walking around the party in regal trying my best to blend, I didn't know Tbone was filming, but damn that was a good 'test', Only things I have a problem with is it's a bit choppy in parts, and its very dark.
