Recently we've all noticed that a great deal of conflict has risen from the implementation of PvP.  There's something I wanted to say because I think everybody should simply be mindful of it.  Back in the day I came from Ultima Online, which if you ask me became the guideline of PvP for all future MMOs.  And there's something that I know that I've learned from it, and it's simply "if you can't take the heat - don't get in the tub."

Do not take attacks personally.  Do not take getting beaten down personally.  If you get upset because somebody res kills you, spawn kills you, or calls you a "Fucking carebear," then you need to take a deep breath and either learn how to cope with PvP or do not do it at all.  I watch so many of you take these things personally; it's silly and retarded. There is no such thing as civil pvp when it's an open battlefield, regardless of what Tbone says we promote - it's not what other people promote.  And don't say it isnt whining when you say something about being ganked or beaten down, it's open PvP.

I personally don't involve myself in PvP, because I got enough of this type of crap back when I played UO.  I know we like to think ourselves better and promoting gameplay - but from an outside view that makes alot of us seem egotistical or arrogant.  Though a lot of what I'm saying is opinion, what I'm really just trying to say is: Don't take it personally.  If you lose,  and keep losing, time to figure out something new.  I know there are twinks out there, but it doesnt do any good to sink to their level a lot of the time.  Just don't take it personally, jack out if you get heated and feel like you want to say something .. it's really not worth it, and is not very fun.

The most recent conflict did not arise from PvP. It arose from personal attacks and harrassment. If someone decides to PvP us, that's fine. We'll simply take care of them. If people are going to start harrassing us, that's fine too. We'll still simply take care of them. Faction PvP is a bit different than just open PvP, though. I don't think it's "whining" to ask "what was that for" when a faction you've been on good terms with for a few months suddenly teams up on you out of the blue. It's a bit more..."political"...than a PvP group going around killing everyone in the open PvP zone. I think the message that should be noted from this post is not to let things get too personal. Every game has its jerks, and you don't want those jerks to turn you into a jerk. If someone harrasses you, just report it and let us know. There's enough of us to make someone's PvP experience hell without having to use words.
