Forbes did a quick piece about how the hardware is supposed to be running Android on a stand-alone chip? How's that supposed to work? Is it just going to act as part of the firmware layer? I'm entirely too fascinated by this shit. Also, I'm totally okay with saying the Carmack is the next (nerdier) Steve Jobs. Man knows how to innovate.

Finally replaced my six year-old 19' Samsungs that ran at 1440x900 with a pair of Acer 23's that run at 1920x1080 with something like, a bajillion more colors.

I'm still going to check it out! I've enjoyed Star Wars in many forms over the years, but the space sims left a very distinct mark on me when I was younger. X-Wing, TIE Fighter (Still the best imo), X-Wing VS. TIE Fighter (and Balance of Power, it's expansion that included the B-Wing), and X-Wing Alliance which holy shit, came out FOURTEEN GODDAMN YEARS AGO. Each and every single one of these games had a significant impact on me and the way I viewed and played simulator games.
While I'm still looking forward to Valkyrie, this is going to hit the nostalgia button hard for me. I'm realistic enough to know not to expect the same sort of experience from the older sims, but I'm optimistic enough to hope that Bioware understands full well what a clusterfuck Jump To Lightspeed was (the space expansion for SWG) and how to avoid those same issues.
