I'm playing it too, but on Blackgate.
We may not be the BEST WvWvW server, but we're wavering in the top 3 ranks (though things can change very quick with 24h matches).
One thing I particularly like about Blackgate is the absurdly positive attitude I'm seeing with the WvWvWers.  We've been placed against the top 2 servers (Northern Shiverpeaks and Henge of Denravi) FOUR times in a row and have been receiving repeated ass-kickings, and yet we're still trying as hard as we can and working together without bickering and arguing.  There's even been positive encouragement.  COMPLIMENTS.  IN AN MMO!

Also, Order of Shadows is here on Blackgate.  Bunch of smug bastards...

Bonus Points: Blackgate reminds me of Batman, since the main prison in Gotham is Blackgate Penitentiary.  So there's that...

You'll find me at    Me Like Pie.6238

So I've avoided posting this for a while but I think since other members have mentioned it I'll chime in.

There are about a dozen members of FA, currently unguilded *Cough Tbone let me form a FA chapter on GW kthks* on the Stormbluff Isle server.

For the record, WE ARE THE BEST WvW server and we're really enjoying it.

Mharz.9240 is my contact name.

Son of a bitch, a DOZEN!?

As much as I like Blackgate, I like FA much more.  I surely can't argue with twelve FA to play with, so I'm gonna switch over while it's still free.
Do we have a list of those who are playing?

I looked up Stormbluff Isle on the GW2Guru forums current matchup thread, and it looks like you're giving Jade Quarry a run for its money, and they are supposedly outstanding and well-organized.

Not that it was terribly hard to do, but you've won me over.  I'll be switching tonight.

I think Tbone is gonna want to tear his hair out with how many different games we all are playing, and I don't even want to imagine how THAT conversation will play out...

Considering we're not really supposed to be a multi-gaming operation.

However, that can be meant only as far as recruitment I believe.

Next week is payday and I'm considering picking it up.  Not a big fan of the high-fantasy stuff, but Mharz's enthusiasm for the game has piqued my interest.

So I stayed up last night until 4am PST in the hopes that at some point during the night Stormbluff would go from Full to High so I could transfer, and it never did.  I log in today at noon and it's on High with NO American server at Full.  Why do people hate sleep so much?

In better news, I successfully transferred to Stormbluff Isle and added y'all to my friends list.

Manic, I too prefer lasers to swords but if you're into PvP then GW2 is currently the best option.  I enjoy the Warzones in SWTOR and Fusang in TSW, but for me WvWvW in Guild Wars recaptures the old feel of Realm vs Realm in DAoC.  Three teams for balance (matched by servers according to a rating system, no less!) with fairly meaningful battles and opportunity for action on both the large and small scale.  The sPvP (warzones) is also quite fun, though I've only done hot-join so far.
I can easily see a group of FA no matter the size excelling at both sPvP and WvWvW, and that's what'll keep me coming back to a game in the long haul.

Tbone logged in and started up "Furious Angels of War" on the Stormbluff Isle server.

If you're playing the game send myself or T a message in game for an invite.

Leveled a Warrior to 15, but now I'm going back and leveling a Thief. I think I like the Thief better. Currently looking at doing a dagger/dagger, shortbow build.

If you're leveling a thief I'd encourage you to look at pistol/dagger as well.

I also like dual pistol and dual dagger.  Fun stuff.

Hutch has a thief at 80, he might be a good source for thief goodness.

Rifle Warrior.

In all seriousness, none of the mage classes are truly great at blowing faces off in the traditional sense.  I suppose a Dagger/Dagger Elementalist can do, but it's super-squishy and needs to be practically right on top of the target.
Melee Mesmers suffer the same problem, but Distortion can give him a few seconds of invulnerability (up to 8 if you do it right).
Phantasm Mesmers can reach absurd levels of damage, but you'll never reach peak DPS in PvP or even against most dungeon bosses.
I'm least familiar with the Necromancer, but from what I've read they are much better at surviving and being condition-whores than straight damage.

Burst damage is simply not within the realm of magic in this game, though we more than make up for that in other ways.

That's what i run for sPvP currently. I go for specific targets and straight up vaporize them. I would almost always recommend Shortbow as a swap because the AoE poison and bleed coupled with the escape utility makes it a tough weapon to get rid of.

Thieves have a lot of viable builds depending on the situation though.

WvWvW pvp is no joke.  You actually have to stratagize or get the whole realm to listen to one person and zerg like mad.  I have seen the number 3 realm Jade Quarry get pissed off and lose garrisons and forts to just try and cripple us while we are fighting Henge because they are spitful we beat them.
