Relevant excerpt from patch notes.
Battlemaster Gear Tokens have been converted into Battlemaster Commendations, which can be used to purchase any Battlemaster gear. This allows players to purchase any piece of gear instead of requiring them to purchase the piece indicated by the token.
Battlemaster Bags now contain Battlemaster Commendations instead of Battlemaster Gear Tokens. They still also contain Champion Commendations.
From what I am reading from this it is saying all current tokens will be converted into generic tokens. Which means that if you have 5 unassembled belts, you will get five generic gear pieces for them in this patch. Is there someone that can confirm this in the test server? If this is the case I would recommend everyone get bags as the drop rate on gear right now is most likely higher now than it will be when there are generic pieces.

I'm saving my points, as I'd rather get a token for gear, then to get screwed again and not get an item. I've gone through about 25-30bags and gotten two heads, two gloves, and an ear.

Battlemaster gear is the Valor 60 bags, and I'm pretty sure NONE of us have the requirements to use one yet. That's what's changing. Champion gear bags, which I think is what you are referring to, is staying the same. Basically, this won't affect anything you're doing now.
