Hey folks.
So just a thought.
I guess on the 20th we are gonna see the servers fill up some more and a big influx of those who haven't pre-ordered.
Just a suggestion here that could be worked on:
Some higher level guys sit on starting worlds (Tython, Ord Mantell) giving away free [crafted] stuff to lowbies. Could sit around the vendors spamming local area chat "Free Blasters! Furious Giveaway! Freshly pressed armor for your levelling needs! All free of charge".
Since most of us will be crafting general garbage at times, just to increase our stats, instead of selling them for pennies, put them towards faction recruitment!
EVen if we don't actually recruit with the giveaway, it certainly shows our presence (how about seeing a lvl 35 guy giving you a free weapon you can use at lvl 1 on your first day playing?). It could be very good for the faction.
Yeah, I'm sure that nobody wants to sit around on Tython doing basically nothing when they could be levelling... at least I can do that from work (can't really level at work).

While I like the idea in essence, this makes me frown. :/
I hope to never see an Angel spamming any channel...
If it were going to happen (which I think would be a neat idea) I think it needs to be more subdued/mysterious (e.g., opening trade with someone to 'slip' them equipment/credits).
(The only problem with this method, though, is knowing a truly new player from some high level player's alt.)
edit: to actually include an alternative idea. ;)

I don't condone spamming either, but at least if it were local area only (immediate radius) then the whole region wouldn't see it; but yea it's absolutely not the FA way. Was just popping it in for effect! ;)
I think slipping open a trade window would be good.
There is an issue of "unsolicted trade" if you like.... but this works better on our terms as nobody would be disappointed if we run out of goods that were being "advertised".
I didn't think about ALTs being created.... interesting.
So, as Armstech, I can create some basic (low level) blasters etc for Smugglers/Troopers on Ord Mantell. At the moment I'm unsure if my blueprints have any level requirement on them (I think not)...

I like the idea, we could help lowbies out and make their first day a fun one. we don't have to spam, just have to be there.

Well, today is the day!
Not sure how much attenotion this post has received considering our current play time.... and I forgot to mention it last night before I ducked out of the meeting.
I'll head over to Ord Mantell a couple of times tonight for at least half an hour each.
Perhaps anyone needing DCs on Ord Mantell might like to come along to show some numbers?
Could do the same for Tython...

Oh, and if you have any extra goodies you can make for the lowbies, make sure you can post em out to whoever is around on the starting planets.

Perhaps we could have some of our Angels meet up with the newbies for that purpose, or were we discussing all newbies/alliances, etc?

I was referring to non-Angels; just giving awareness to the server about the Angels (30 mins of your time just giving some free stuff to people you think deserve it to help spread our name).
Of course, we should be meeting up with our own FA new guys too; I would expect that we give our own guys whatever time is needed now that we have all settled down a bit.

Well, I watched a few people yesterday and sent some goods to them (and credits) through the mail system, complete with RP message.
I haven't heard back from any... :(
