We are looking for some new leaders, which doesn't happen very often - my staff have been pretty reliable.
Unfortunately, Adad of the Aequitas is not in a position to join us for the launch of SWTOR. He's already been scarce around here for the last few months, but since he won't be in game with us and with no ETA, we're looking for a replacement to be the Master of the Aequitas Order.
In addition to this we've had a surge of applicants. We might come to the point of needing to make a NEW Order, which of course will need a new Master as well.
We're looking for someone who has been with us - someone we can trust. But we are also looking for someone who has and will continue to be extremely active in FA. It's a public servant position more than anything. If you want examples, look at Anamodiel running all of our recruitment stuff and Broin running our interviews.
You need to show the maturity to be respectful and helpful to our members, and the initiative to lead new projects or come up with new ideas.
Obviously since we are a little over 24 hours before early launch, we're looking for someone who can be a leader IN the game and out. That being said, the process of finding new leadership might take a while.
This decision will be made among the staff. We've picked leadership in the past a couple of different ways, but I think this is the best way to do it for this particular situation.
If you're interested, feel free to let us know. We'll be watching during launch and beyond to see who steps up as a leader, and that can mean a lot of different things (lead by example, being a good follower, etc.).
As I have more information regarding this process, I'll let you know!

I'm always available to help the leadership when needed. My only hesitation is that I travel for work and that takes me off of the grid from time to time.

It might just be me, but sometimes those best suited for leadership don't ask or publicize it. Are we looking at everyone, even those who do not submit a PM to Tbone, for consideration to take a leadership role?
Personally, I can think of a few individuals that are deserving - but I haven't seen their interest in terms of a reply to this thread.

I've had a few people PM me that haven't posted here. We don't want to waste our time looking at candidates if they have no desire to take the position. Consider it like putting in your application for a job. You don't have to post it here. Just let us know you're interested.

I wouldn't be too concerned with somebody being overlooked, Jess. Though Tbone said that they are looking solely at those who show interest, if there is someone who fits their criteria that has not PMed him, I think it likely that at least one of the staff will give that person a gentle prod or ask if they are interested.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing who is chosen. It's always exciting to see a longstanding member step up and be recognized as the leader they are (or tireless workhorse, as the case may be).

Having said that. Since I'm kinda a new guy around here, I'm gonna opt out of applying to take over the role of Master.

I wouldn't worry about this. It's easy to name a new person to manage a crew that exists and there would be no point to rewriting the crew name/purpose/BS. I consider it THE premier place if you're a DS Angel. It adds a good plotline in our RP.

I know there was a thread somewhere that was started before recruitment and our challenge was up where people could apply to be masters and what not.. I cant seem to find it right this moment but perhaps taking a look over the old list wouldnt be a bad thing as those people have shown interest in the past..
So.. (although probably brought up better at a meeting some time after launch and potentially already addressed as I have missed a few meetings)
another question I had is what are we going to do about our Alts.. I know this wont be a huge problem early on but I know anyone that is heavy on RP will most likely create alts to help advance their storyline.. and well.. the story is so awesome I might have a few alts just to play the different stories through..
Are we going to work them into our active orders (which might take away from their roles) or are we going to create an order for our alts??
The problem I run into is I am rolling a Shadow.. that will definitely be my main.. but I do LOVE tanking.. and I dont mind taking a beating.. which means I will probably roll a Trooper shortly after launch to get my tanking fix... my trooper (if integrated into the main orders) wouldnt fit in my current order as it is mostly for force sensitives nor would it fit for his/her RP story..

I second the nomination for Fuse! Good guy, good shooter. Although, I think he should run a new Order containing only Dark Side Angels. Hells yeah.
I think Fuse has been a stand up dude through the years plus as far as I know his activity in the faction has been super consistent.

I agree, i think Fuse would be a no brainier as a candidate, he has all the characteristics i would want in a leader. Especially in a guild that i am playing in.

As a member of the Aequitas, I too support Fuse for our leader. I wish I could take up the position myself (having been a ship captain in the MxO days), but I'm in the process of moving and my time will be limited. Hope to see you all in game in a couple of weeks though.

fallen angels... hmmm.... maybe theres some lore on something similar... but right now our story works right into the actual cannon. Fuse could be cool.

Why not... Just designate a Lt. instead? Most of us chose this Order the way it was presented to us, as Adad made it. And as Saint sayd, Adad will be back... Or he doesn't even have an ETA?

This is what should be focused on too, no one here is talking about replacing Adad in a vulgar manner.

Thanks for the unexpected support, but i also think if adad plans to be playing, it's his order. Full disclosure, i acknowledged that in my message to T, and posed my offer as a place holder if that is what's needed. The Aquitas is the place for me. The background fits my character. No point in changing it.
Honestly, i believe order "leaders" is more for rp. The real leaders and respected members don't needed the lieutenant, master, leader, or commander titles. The recognition from above and the ability to have a say in setting direction for fa is great-but i don't think we're deficient in that now anyways.

Just giving you guys a quick update. We're very close to making a decision. I'm just waiting to hear back from one or two staff members, and I want to have one more meeting about it. Sorry that it's taking a while, but we wanted to give everyone careful consideration. Thanks!
