Title: No active subscription error...
Post by: Venlar on December 09, 2011, 09:37:51 pm
So I was preloading the swtor client and everything was going just fine but I suddenly have an error which states that "There is currently no active subscription on this account. Activate your account here." Which gives me a link to my account page on swtor.com. I've looked through my account page and cant find anything to "activate" my subscription. My preorder and preorder codes are registered so I don't understand what the problem here is.

I have the same error, but assume it's because NO ON has an active subscription. Also, you won't until you enter the game code when you finally get the game - this is the same code that allows you to play for 60 days with the purchase.

Bottom line: don't worry.

I've also heard that there is no grace period between Early Access and launch... that means if you don't get your account activated before the servers actually go live, you won't be able to log in again until you do.  Seeing as my Amazon.com order isn't scheduled to get to me until after launch, this could be a problem... :2'(  :'(

I ordered through origin and submitted my preorder code... so how do I activate my account to be able to both preload and gain access to early access. I ordered on the first day of preorders within the first few hours so I'm going to be pissed if I have to wait till the 20th.

I ordered through Origin as well. I'm not even sure if I will receive a physical disk. It would be nice to have something sent to me as a back-up.

Good question....hopefully it is all in the email.

You get that error message after you've patched bc your account isn't active yet. No worries.

And yes, there is no grace period.

Only the top version of SWTOR comes as a physical disc, I believe? So unless you ordered the top version, its a download you do. Any downloads from Origin should have the key available *from* Origin...  but of course you can install the client whether or not you have the physical disc coming your way.

I would presume that, even with a physical disc, Origin would still post your code on your Origin account. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Speaking of patching, because I'm mildly neurotic I open my launcher every so often and log in.  Last night I got a very small patch.  Investigating.

Origin's pre-order code is just that, a code saying that you pre-ordered. They are going to send you an actual License Key once they charge your account on the 16th. After you apply your code you get after actually buying the game, you will be able to actually setup your monthly subscription plan.

Hope this helps.
