Title: What if there's no RP-PvP Server?

I'm getting a little nervous that they may not release an RP-PvP server at launch. If this is the case, will we go towards PvP (and deal with lack of immersion in player interactions) or towards RP (and deal with less open-world PvP, although I know that BioWare's making efforts to put some PvP on all the neutral planets)?

well we listed ourselves as pvp because we lacked that option. it was something many guilds did not like. but that wont stop us from being an RP-PVP guild.

I remember in SWG my server (starsider) was one of the best RP servers in the game and the game had no distinctions between servers aside what the playerbase created for it.

likewise my RP server and RP-PVP server experience in WoW taught me that the tag on the server means jack shit. neither my time on maelstrom or sentinels servers granted me any meaningful RP experiences whatsoever.

I remember I rolled on maelstrom for a bit doing some raiding, and there was no RP. though I am not a RPer, i felt there should've been more.

All but one of WoW's RP-PvP servers were failures as they were released in server batches where they were the only new PvP server. The one released at the same time as a normal PvP server continues to flourish.

I didn't think we were going to go on a full on RP server.  I thought we'd just hop on a regular PvP server like normal and RP externally.  It worked well in MxO.

Plus FULL fledged RP server take themselves so dang seriously.  Not to mention they're super low population.  Meh... I dunno man.

We are going to a PvP server first and foremost. If there's an RP option, great. If not, we'll set the standard.

If there are no RP-PvP servers, then we will roll on a PvP server like we did in MxO.  We made RP work in a PvP context, and most factions on the server followed our example.

If you're not constantly looking over your shoulder, then there is no tension, which means there is no danger, which means you are not fully immersed in the world.

Sounds good to me: if there's no official rp-pvp servers, we'll make one. There's a small outcry for them, so when we make a big splash, others will follow suit. :D

Tbone, so if there is an RP - PvP server, are we going to join that above anything else?
