Remind me not to game with Asians or Aussies :-p

You mean Asians or Aussies that use Verizon Internet Services.

The ISP listed in the pictures is the client's, not the host's. And I've been much happier with consistency and network stability of my FiOS connection than I was with Comcast :-p

How much do you really need? I mean I'm not streaming videos while I'm gaming.

likwidtek, what are you doing? I have the same provider in the same city. Before what? What do I have to do to get after?

Unfortunately around here everything is CRAP, horrible pings, traceroutes sent to the UK before they make it to Dallas (6 hour drive to the south) sometimes, couldn't even stream Netflix properly with a "20 MB" pipe. All because the one local cable company (Mediacom) has overloaded every node in town and i swear that AT&T sends every new recruit in their network/routing department here to train and they let them experiment live on the main hub for these parts.
BUT, Mediacom's 50 MB connection is on a whole new DOCSIS 3.0 network that's separated from their thousands of shitty 5-20 MB connections. So to get on a "clean" network i have to pay through the nose. And DSL here maxes at around 6 MB. Literally the worst place in the world for internet service around here.
But i shouldn't complain since i could be in BFE where they just have dial-up still.

What?! Will everybody stop living in Phoenix and having better connections than me?

I don't know what likwidtek is doing, but we're using a DOSSYS 3.0 modem and are paying for (well, waz_here's office is) the top tier connection.

I do all the time, wife watches some HD stream on Netflix while I game and/or also watch a seperate Netflix stream and torrent things all at the same time. Hooray for 25mb upstream! But that's why I tested various long distance cities to get an idea of what to expect when playing games on Euro servers or West Coast servers.
-
For just strictly gaming, you don't need much at all. I can play WoW or DCUO perfectly fine over a tethered 3G phone connection. It's when the rest of the house starts using the same connection that having lots of bandwidth really shines.
-
I really don't want to put my internet speed up cos well.......its shocking but thats because i live in britian and we are terrible for net

HEHEHEHEE. One of the benes of working from home for a large company. :D

Yeah you just need to swap out your modem for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. You can get them anywhere now. And then call cox to upgrade to the Ultimate package. You'll pay a lot but seriously, I downloaded all 3 Matrix movies in HD in 60 minutes. So nice.
We upgraded mostly because our HTPC is downloading all of the time. It's annoying to try and get games and stuff downloaded while that's going on.
We'll try it out a while and see how it goes.
-
Oh. Okay. I already did upgrade to a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I think I have the medium tier package, but I'm getting much better speeds than they advertise. Maybe when my money situation gets better, I'll upgrade to the Ultimate plan.

Word.

Meh, got all I need at work for the most part; don't do much at home these days. I've seen better pings than that, though. Can upgrade that to 50Mb, but I don't see the point for now. Running on cable here, so have a slight advantage on upgrade possibility.
-
Ok, I was having alot of high ping times in games, so I found a better internet provider, heres my latest test.. I trully feel Im ready to rock and roll with swtor now! check out my ping!
