Jess woke up and found that her card had been charged like $130 or so. She did some investigating and it turns out that our XBOX live account had been hacked and they purchased like FIFA 2011 among other things.
It's weird because a google search yields this is happening to TONS of people. There must be some leak or something. I suggest you guys change your passwords.

My 2yr old did this to me all the time... I'd put in a code for MS points one day and the next I'll have some lame avatar item.. last time he bought me Bastion, though, which has actually been pretty entertaining.
No more playing with the controller for him though. >_<
(Also, sucks you got hacked. Hope it works out! ... curious why all the hackers want FIFA, though. x_X )

Ok, so you got hacked. Someone got lucky. I'm sorry it happened to you. But,
I think you're reading too much into the whole thing. Looking at any popular game/service/whatever and google searching will yield tons of results that support your theory. On the first page of your searches alone, the dates of those things vary from 4 days ago to the 23rd May (I'll ignore the one dated 31st January as the link isn't entirely relevant).
Not to mention the link that you've just posted is almost 2 months old.
LulzSec were a bunch of DDoSers who found a few exploits in well used software along with a generous dosing of social hacking/engineering. I think XKCD summed it up best if you say that LulzSec spent most of their time tearing posters down that people had spent time putting up.

Hey man, just looking out for my friends. There was a rumor that XBL got hacked and info got leaked then my account became compromised shortly after. I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about them computery thingies. I'd consider myself one of those people who know how to spot a phishing scam and keylogger. (Hopefully my employer has the same faith in me as well :P ) Not to mention, anything related to money and gaming of mine has incredibly strong passwords. So even brute forcing is a bit of a stretch.
You make your own decision however in the past few months it seems there have been a lot of these breaches to XBL accounts (see second link) as well as the rumor mill doing what it does.
No matter what though, you can never be too safe. Changing your pass and keeping strong passwords is more than likely a good idea. I'd also suggest purchasing MS point cards (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_25?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=xbox+360+live+points+card&x=0&y=0&sprefix=xbox+360+live+points+card) instead of saving your CC info in your XBL or PSN account. Especially after these break ins lately.

Same exact thing happened to me today. 130 worth of microsoft points. 10,000 to be exact. Made sure I had the account locked down until I can get this cleared up.
