Title: Mortal Kombat

Played the demo last night and holy fuck I feel like a kid again.  I haven't had this much fun with an MK game since Mortal Kombat Trilogy back in '96.

Anyone else planning on picking this up when it launches in April?

I played it yesterday at my friend's house. You're absolutely right. It's great to see them go back to their fighting roots. None of this 3D movement complicated move set BS. Just good ol' MK action.

Can't find the demo on Xbox Live Market; but I'm not a great fan of beat 'em ups. Although I loved MK as a kid; may pick it up second hand in the summer or something.

my brother got given an Xbox and has just passed it (and a kinnect) to me - will be doing the odd game now and MK certainly was a good game when I was young(er).

So, who all is playing?  I scored the tournament edition and zomg holy crap the arcade stick is beautiful.

The game is pretty awesome.  I do feel like a fish out of water though.  I am stopped at MK 1 2 and 3 and haven't played any of the other garbage out there.  This is definitely more MK2 but a lot of the moves are different.  So for example, I love Liu Kang.  Where his flying kick was always > > HK it's now < > BP.  Back Punch??  In my head that makes no sense.  So yeah... it will take some getting used to.

I almost flipped my shit when I plugged in the arcade stick and the button layout WAS NOT the normal arcade style.  Then I learned how to remap and I'm much happier now.  :D

My only complaint is that I can't skip movie parts in story mode when I've already seen them.  Kinda gay, but I only put a few hours into it last night.  

So glad I got it though.

I picked up my pre-order yesterday after work, but I'm waiting until Thursday when I have no other plans going on so I can just sit down and play until I have to call it a night.

Really looking forward to story mode and the challenge tower.
