Title: Who here likes techno?!
Post by: Baobinga on September 28, 2010, 02:56:06 am
There's gotta be some of you who like bangin beats? If so check out some of my stuff.
I'm a DJ and signed producer. I do dirty house music primarily. Nothing gets me more pumped up then a fat bassline.

Techno is stupid.
Haha, just kidding. I actually love electronic music quite a bit. And I've already taken a look at most of your stuff. Pretty good, man.
You done many shows?

Techno's good, but I'm told that since I'm a ska fan my opinion doesn't count. Good music indeed Bing!

Use to DJ in Chicago, and also hosted my own radio show on a few stations. I spun house and D&B, but sold my gear a few years back. Still have my records though - I just can't part with them.
Your stuff sounds pretty good. Who you signed with? Where do you spin at?

Like your mix there, some of it reminds me of Justice.

Bastard, stole my music of choice!
I also like DnB, Jungle, Trance, breakbeat, some dubstep, and electronica that samples/incorporates hip-hop, rock, blues, jazz, etc.
While CD's are a dying thing, one of my favorite past times was picking up an album I knew nothing about. That's how I found Kemistry & Storm's DJ Kicks back in the day (I know I'm dating myself). Though one can stumble on gems online with places like soundcloud. I remember stumbling on Knobtweakers Best of 2005 years ago (someone was using a track as intro music to their CS:S server), still recommend downloading it. When I have a couple hours of free time I'll use iTunes' related artist/genre menu to find new artists/new albums from old ones.
Having dabbled a bit into layering and sampling tracks, I have much respect for those that are good at it.
edit: btw, feel free to post your works in the randomness (music) (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=5961) thread to help keep it going.

Yeah I'll post in the randomness thread. Completely off the subject but is there anyone who can do a signature like the ones you guys have for me? They look sick.
Back to the subject I'm signed with Cobalt Records/Special Recordings (same label) and Wish Industry. I'm not doing any shows yet but I know I deserve to. The local scene hates the shit out of me lol. They wouldn't book me for a show if their life depended on it.
The story with them is ever since I first started they told me I sucked and should give up. Told me to f off and quit dance music. This is back when I was just a DJ. They gave me one booking and I ripped it so hard. The entire dancefloor was screaming and filled with people. No one was standing around. The local DJ's are notorious for boring the crowd. People stand around all night.
Then I started producing and they of course told me I blew and to quit. It ended up just being blah blah blah all day from them. Next thing I know I got signed by a small label called Zer0 Digital. I did a release with them and it charted number 10 on junodownloads.com for that week. They never paid me. I got in a huge arguement with the label head and that was it. lol.
Got picked up by cobalt and wish industry shortly after. Wish Industry will eventually be handling my bookings. They're doing a tour right now with an act from brazil. Their ads are in dj mag brazil too so its pretty sweet.
Right now I'm just chillin back making music. Preparing a release for Cobalt as we speak.
