So I had the idea to extend the RP of the recruitment challenge past getting accepted. The idea is that on the front page is a series of video files hosted by the hologram, AP28431, that gives the newly ascended information on FA, instructions on how to get started, and perhaps major plot points of our background and story.
The videos themselves will go in and out of RP, depending on what information needs to be told. Right now it is basically power point, but once we get in game, we can add in game footage and stuff.
Keep in mind the videos aren't necessarily suppose to invoke a sense of awesomeness. Hopefully that was achieved with the challenge. These videos are more of an interactive way to get a bunch of information to you if you are joining us late.
So far I've just done one video - Chapter 01: Getting To Know You. It merely introduces you to the names you need to know and what their job is around here. Obviously if your name is mentioned and you want your description tweaked or for me to use a different image, just let me know. I'm not just going to add ANYTHING, however, but you know what I mean.
I really like this idea, especially for background info and making sure they've got TS and Steam and all of that. We'll see how well I'm able to keep updating it, though. I think as long as I don't let it get too out of date, it should work well.

I dig it. Not too flashy, but quite informative and not very boring at all. I know if I was joining right now I'd want to know more about all you "important" people.
Any of you brand new recruits want to chime in on how useful (or not) it was for you?

Very good idea T, I like it a lot. I never really thought about how RP basically stops after acceptance, so this is a great way to keep it rolling. Good job on the video as well. With you knowing how to edit, I won't be needed here much longer.... :(

To clarify (if you haven't been keeping up with everything), AP28431 is the hologram that takes you through the second half of the recruitment challenge. So he is someone you'll already be familiar with as a new recruit, and he'll be familiar with you as well.
AP = Ascension Program
28431 is his version number (make and model, whatever). This number also plays a role earlier in the challenge.

Fantastic again. I just want to say that, although he gets plenty of credit for everything with this faction ;) T should really be commended for creating such a great idea and character to bring a truly Star Wars esque sidekick to help guide our new members on their transition into our guild. I think it's honestly such a perfect way to train new members while adopting genuine Star Wars storytelling, and the character of AP28431 is every bit a parallel to many of the famous Droids in the lore. Bravo
(and no, I'm not just trying to kiss his butt since I've been essentially MIA for the last 3 weeks, I truly believe this is one of the most clever things we've done)
