Yeah yeah I know I know. Some of the guys started playing it and it is completely free. It's not even a large download. I decided to try it out basically to test a tank character to see if I would enjoy it enough to go tank in TOR. Also it is good practice using number slots as abilities, tab targeting, etc.
If you're craving an MMO, check it out with us. You can level all the way to 80 for free, though some of the advanced weapons and skills will be locked to you. For $10 you get a few things unlocked and after that iit gets subscription based.
My name is simply Tbone.

I'd strongly advise to not bother with the subscription since it's basically paying the same thing you would for the live game but with less stuff available.
It's basically trying to push for the "APB" Microtransaction + Sub. They've had a bit of complaints about this already so they're going to at least have both classes and races as micro transaction.
Anyway, We're all stationed in New Halas so if you pick a class that is "evil" it might not show up for you as a starting point.
Remember, this is just meant as something to fold the craving until we get closer to TOR. Meddling with it's payment plans is something that shouldn't be bothered with much.

Yeah, I agree the actual payment options are screwed up. If I put any money into it, it'll be for silver just so I can advance my skills a bit more, and that's only bc I have 350 station cash already.
If you go any further than that, you are paying more than their live subscription but getting less for it. It is sneaky.

Does anyone know if you can re-activate a previous account as a free to play account?

It should be linked to your station account. As for characters?
The characters aren't shared between Live and EQ2X. Technically you could transfer a character from the EQ2 to the extended version but that also costs money.
Damn SoE :P

Yeah $35 for a transfer

VERY helpful once you leave New halas since apparently New Halas is one of the very few areas that actually highlight quest areas.
Also, when it asks for the everquest2.exe, look under the directory that should look like this.
C:/Users/"Account name"/Appdata/Locallow/Sony Online Entertainment/ etc etc etc.

Patch notes for Wed Sept 1st.
* Classes can now be purchased individually off the Marketplace and through character creation.
* Armor crates have been added to the Marketplace selling sets of armor for all levels.
* You can now purchase Broker Credits from the marketplace!
* Broker Credits can be used for a one-time purchase or sell action on the broker for Bronze and Silver members.
* Selling and purchasing stacks of items count as a single broker credit so use them wisely!
Well son of a bitch. Looks like i'm gonna be rolling an assassin.
Pendas, are you gonna take the plunge and go for Conjuror?

You have much to learn about tanking good sir. Tab targetting while being the MT (main tank) or MA (main assist) is a terrible habit to get into, especially later on. This is mostly due to the fact that it's not uncommon for the tab targetting system to pick an enemy that is being rooted / stunned / mezzed, and then have said effect(s) be broken and everything goes to hell. Once we start doing dungeons I'll give you the run down on strats and techniques to tanking.

Dude, this may be my first week in EQ2, but I'm not a newb. I've been playing online RPGs for over 10 years and MMOs for over 8. I know when to tab target and when not to. I was speaking in general, as in "we've been playing FPSs for the past couple of months, so I need to adjust back to MMO controls".
I usually play as DPS, but I've done tanking as well. I'm familiar with strategies of pulling aggro, etc. I'm just adjusting to EQ II's way of doing things, because I think that TOR will be similar (a bit more mainstream than I'm used to).
I know you've played EQ II for 6 years and you know a lot more about the game than me. Just don't assume I'm a complete newb at this whole gaming thing. I'm not Broin!
