To put things into perspective:

Want to be tank? Trooper Vanguard or Jedi Guardian
Want to be stealth? Smuggler Scoundrel or Jedi Shadow
Want to be DPS? Trooper Commando, Smuggler Gunslinger, or Jedi Sentinel
Want to be healer? Smuggler Scoundrel or Jedi Wizard

Crowd control? Jedi Wizard
Buffer? Jedi Guardian

As you can see, there are usually a few different choices regardless of the "type" of character you wanna be. Pretty interesting.

To buff or to heal... that is the question.

Ana = heals.

In MxO terms!

MA = Jedi Sentinel (and a little Guardian)
Hacker = Jedi Wizard (damage/heal) or Jedi Guardian (buffer)
Gunman = Trooper (both classes) and Smuggler Gunslinger
Knife Thrower = Smuggler Scoundrel (like sniper class as well) and Jedi Shadow (like the interlock stealth abilities)

I dearly hope they change the name of the Jedi Wizard.  Sure, I've been using that term to describe what I want my character to be, but I don't want that to be its in-game title as well...

I'm going CC Wizard all the way; the battlefield will be my plaything!  Who needs heals when the enemy can't even touch you?

Gunslinger ftw.

I am still torn.

In terms of what I think when I think FA, I think Jedi shadow. It also resembles my knife thrower days.

However I am used to DPS, so Jedi Sentinel  is the closest to that aspect of my playstyle.

But in terms of Tbone, He would be a Jedi Guardian, a leader on and off the battlefield. I also am interested in survivability and being a team player considering I could be a high value target.

Grr

I'm torn between Scoundrel or Jedi Shadow...

Hmm... This is going to be interesting. We'll see how much more unfolds in the upcoming months.

That was one of my favorite and unique aspects of MxO.... It will be missed. T_T

I wouldn't be surprised to see them put in a Dual Spec type of mechanic that WoW uses.

Even though I never really strayed from MA in MxO, it was nice to know that I could if I wanted to.  And one of the reasons I like Eve is because there are no classes.  You're only as effective as what you've trained for.

It will be weird having to stick to a single class.

Jedi Shadow is Stealth and DPS, but I'm not sure if it's on-par with the Sentinel (don't see why not). I'm torn between the Guardian, Sentinel and Shadow.

Guardian for the aesthetics and single lightsaber, plus buffing is going to sweet with the Guardian's heavy tanking ability (and saber combat). I wonder if you can buff yourself?
Sentinel for the Saber mastery feat.
Jedi Shadow because of my character's ability to be invisible to the force.

I'm leaning more to the Guardian though: I will prefer the Knight's story over the Consular, I think. Just hope that the Guardian is a good saber combatant, too... hopefully I'll be able to outlast the Sith Marauder...

I'll probably have a Trooper Commando and a Smuggler Scoundrel.

Yeah, same here. I've heard good things about the JK storyline.

I suppose it will depend on whether group buffs affect you as well. I much prefer team play, but when I'm playing solo, I would hate for it to take me 3x as long to kill anything simply because I have low damage output. I would hate to have to rely on a "companion" for DPS.

But the problem I always had with my knife thrower is that he was pretty squishy. I don't want to be the guy that everyone always has to keep an eye on because I go charging in with melee DPS but have no survivability.

This is why i'm leaning towards Scoundrel ;)

I completely understand what you mean by that. I've always played that type of character (More of a stealth melee than knife thrower though). The kind of "Pop in there, BOOM, and leave without so much as a goodbye" kind of play style just suits me.
