Saw that there was limited info, want to update you:
http://www.metacortechs.com
Does that North American HQ building look familiar?
Metacortex is the company Thomas Andresons works for.
You can find him on the staff list here: Go to DIRECTORY from main page, and do a search in REDLAND for andersonthomas.
The real online matrix is here: http://www.metacortechs.com/mumowmow/
Why not sign up for the MetaCortex Console, A VR Console that is unlike anything else!! lol
Beth McConnell, that Employee of the month has her own website:

WOW THIS IS SO COOL!!!!!!
Whoever created that website is a GENIUS!!!!!!! GENIUS!!!!!
I will begin playing it RIGHT NOW!!!!!! IT IS THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What am I ranting about? Only the greatest game ever created. Doesn't the whole website seem a bit too..... "generic evil giant corporation"?
Well it is! The whole thing is part of what's called an "alternate reality game".
It's not a real company. The website is registered to teh guys who runs this site:
http://vpmusic.com/arg.html
In these types of games, a dynamic online world is created, consisting of multiple websites, interactive characters, live phone numbers, emails, phone calls to the players, instant messages and realworld clues. It's the job of the player to follow clues, respond to realtime challenges, and solve puzzles to progress in the story.
And that's what Metacortechs is!
To bad the game was live in 2003, so much of it no longer works. But it is still the greatest idea ever!
A news article about it:
http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1115592003
And the links to all the fake websites that are part of it:
http://vpmusic.com/arglinks.html
It's like one giant mysterious challenge. Anyone who was interested in the FA challenge should definitely try this!!!!
How cool would it be to either participate in or, even better, CREATE one of these games?
Wow.

Ok,
This website was created to generate interest for the Matrix 2 film I think...
The whole website, and the game that is behind it was create by the W bros.
Essentially, the website looks like a real company website (well.... sorta). There is a game behind it - a bit like the FA signup process, except more advanced.
Solving this puzzle, when you realise it IS a puzzle (and when it was live in 2003 before and during film release), will lead you on a trail of website pretending to be official, but really just there for the game. It involved leaving VOICE messages on answerphones across the world, and receiving messages back from real people who were really all actors.
It would be nice if we could make the FA entry like this... not that hard to do with some free website space and free time.
The fact that we know there are some "hidden" forums on thematrixonline.com that are labelled "Metacortex" implies that the website may become active again? Or do the forums simply relate to the company in MxO environment, where we can perhaps work (although we have no need to work)????????? Discuss in no less than 30 words ;)

I followed it when it was live an W Bros didnt create it. It wasnt official.

Yeah I was participating in this game too, it was really intense when that Aquapolis guy drowned on the Delis level, or whichever one it was...
