Title: Weekly FA Meetings
Post by: Tbone on June 03, 2010, 12:31:19 am
Note: These meetings are on hold while we adapt to a post-launch schedule!

We have weekly meetings on Monday night, 8:30 FA time.

All members are encouraged to participate in the meeting. Meetings are also used as a time to conduct interviews of new recruits, so the more people there, the better.

If you have a particular item you would like to bring up and discuss, please just let me know ahead of time. Also, certain parts of the meeting may be for Staff and Masters only.

After the meeting, feel free to stick around for some gaming or casual conversation!

We will try to post the minutes of the meetings in this thread.

Summary from Meeting 1:

-Discussed recruitment in Darkfall. We decided that it wasn't viable.
-We are no longer going to focus on APB.
-SWTOR Recruitment - Adad and Yotogi are going to get the ball rolling on some stuff. Be sure to check out the forums this week as they roll out new ideas!

We decided that we need to start heavily recruiting for SWTOR come early Fall. As well, we need to start getting more involved in the SWTOR community, posting on their forums and such. We'll need a uniform signature!

Also, as a tradition we're starting tonight, after each meeting, we're going to hop on and play some Bad Company 2 so that we can all still call ourselves friends and play one game together for a night. If you can't make it to the meetings, feel free to hop on in BC2!

Question.. when you say captains.. would FM/Lieutenants be able to sit in on these meetings.. even the ones in training?
Title: Re: Staff/Captain Weekly Meetings
Post by: Tbone on June 14, 2010, 07:37:10 pm
Yes, anyone can sit in on the meeting except for cases where we need to discuss information that's more sensitive, which I rarely see happening.

Apparently no one showed except Broin and Ana. If you are one of the main devs, please let us know like Manic did if you are unable to attend. I sent out a reminder early today, so you had plenty of time to reply with a conflict. Thanks.

How did you send the reminder? I never received one. Not as an excuse, but just wondering.

Checking, you guys aren't signed up for our text alerts. If you have a phone, you can get them. There are 8 people in the "pending" queue, so make sure you aren't one of them.

I can't get those texts alerts since my stupid Cell provider blows ass. Besides this, i haven't had my laptop for QUITE a while. Long story short, between bad parts / wrong parts, they're sending me a replacement system that's coming in within the next 3 weeks -_-.

I'm currently posting this on one of the first PCs i've built. I remember this puppy barely being able to play MxO back in the day lol. (Athlon XP 2000, 768MB ram, and a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200).

I just set this up today so at least i'll be able to lurk on here and post.

-TOR Updates! Space combat mini-game, ala Star Fox. New species announced - get acquainted.
-Adad working on second half of the Challenge
-Still need one riddle!!
-Need artwork, similar to the Holonet Timeline for Phase 4.
-Yotogi getting done with work much earlier!!!! END OF THE WEEK biatch!
-This means that, with Adad working on the 2nd half of the Challenge and Yotogi working on the first half, we could VERY EASILY HAVE THE CHALLENGE DONE BY MID-SEPTEMBER, if not sooner. GET EXCITED!!
-Movie. Definitely something to think about. We'll see where it goes from here.
-PC Gamer article out. (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=183362)

That's all! It was a short meeting.

-SWTOR updates: Jedi Knight Advanced Classes and Companion for the Knight.
-New Interview posted on our forums regarding the art design. Look it over!
-ArchNemesis filled up his Order... full fledged Master now!
-It is possible that we may expand the number of people that are in each Crew.
-Website Changes. Frontpage image changed, along with an RSS feed and some other fun content.
-YOTOGI IS BACK IN ACTION CREATING PHASE 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Adad and Tbone have CHURNED out a good deal of content for the second half of the Challenge. .html version will be posted
as a bear-bones to review (VERY ROUGH). Graphics will be added by ManicVelocity as they are finished.
-Holovid video towards the end needs art. We need a solution? Check out TOR site and Google Images to find concept art-like
images with a similar style to use.

-TOR Updates! Advanced Class details, finally. Names, and then more information regarding their focus. It'll help you nail down what type of character you want to play. Starship details as well.
-New gameplay footage from Gamescon!
-ANAMODIEL WILL BE IN ITALY UNTIL DECEMBER!! Say goodbye to him - he'll be on Teamspeak during his nights/which will be your days.
-Tbone is asking for donations for a professional microphone so that we can have truly professional recordings for future media. It isn't mandatory and even if you only want to donate a few dollars, it's appreciated.
-Yotogi has finished the Button part of the Challenge.
-Adad is working on his part of the challenge, too. The hologram is looking kick-ass!
-TBONE LISTENED TO AN IDEA OF YOTOGI'S!! Using the tile effect of the walls in the room, they'll be converted into screens and we could show images/video/text on multiple screens when needed. When talking about Iego, we could show the galaxy, and zoom into exactly where they are.
-Working on Recruitment application coding. Lithium?
-Ideas for the Holonet?
-Tbone is going to re-write and record audio, and then find clips/use certain clips and throw it together to see what it looks like.
-We'll also try to get in touch with Loki.
-Tbone will be in Florida for three weeks in October.
-A couple of days after releasing the challenge, once people realize its linked to us. We create a NEW post with encryption. We all change signature to encryption, and each member posts one word to spell out something fucking sweet in a span of 10 minutes.

Post by: Broin on August 30, 2010, 09:01:27 pm
Anamodiel sucks because he went to Italy and can't take notes

Read the comics as they will introduce you to possible story line characters

Challenge progress continues

Yotogi and Manic working on redesign of the cockpit along with animation.. Improvements moving along

Adad and Manic working on second half of challenge.

Manic rocked out the screens so they could be used correctly

Adad has it set up so that the screens are working and is finishing it up

Adad is late because he's a poopy head

Holovid - Loki and Lazarus not doing drawings as the task is to great for the amount of pictures needed and limited time to get it done / continuing on with one Tbone has created.

Lithium is back and will be helping working on recruitment forum/flash for new recruits

Recommended games we are checking out

•   Everquest II extended - free to download free to play (old republic may playvery similar so check it out / could help with teamwork)
•   KOTOR I and KOTOR II a definite yes to play to become knowledgeable of the background for the story and combat styles and way Bioware game mechanics works
•   KOTOR I and II are your solo games to play
•   EQII for the group
•   Battlefield Bad Company II is also played by quite a few   members

Big Push Needed to get challenge ready for October.  Keep on Keepin on.
Anathamas has invited the entire faction for drinks at his house as he has opted to supply the liquor

Manic probably has more and in a more concise and well thought out format

9/13:

SWTOR News-
Plenty of stuff coming out of PAX.  Revan's Fate trailer.  Corellia revealed as new playable planet.  New issue of Blood of the Empire.

Recruitment Challenge News-
Yotogi put together a rough cut of Phase 2.  Adad has been busy working two jobs, so not much progress on his end.  Hopefully will get some things knocked out by mid week.  Hoping to have a beta of the entire challenge by next week.  Lithium has been working on form scripts to be integrated into the final phase of the challenge.

Still need to solidify how the challenge will "go live".  We need to gather contact information for as many devs and high-profile community members as possible.  The aim is to generate lots of word-of-mouth buzz.  We set the bait and wait for people to bite.  Once enough people realize what it is, we go ahead with an official recruitment thread in the SWTOR forums.

FA News-
Tbone made some small graphical changes to the forums.  Feedback would be appreciated.

Tbone received new mic.  Sounds great.  Many thanks to all who donated.

Next week's meeting may get moved to Tuesday.  Stay tuned for details.

Other Stuff-
Lots of games still being played.  EQII, EVE, and BFBC2 are the heavy hitters among faction members.  Even if you're not playing a game, feel free to log on to TS and shoot the shit with other members.

-Adad is AWOL again. BBBBOOOOOOO I MISS YOU ADAD. <3
-SWTOR Updates: New videos, new look at the Jedi Classes. Smuggler trailer was also released. Graphics have improved a lot from the earlier trailers and development has definitely moved along well. There is also a good bit of video footage still from PAX, leakerz.net has a few leaked Beta videos.
-Testing for Phase 2 started up. It went very well. We fixed all of the bugs and put in to effect the suggestions. PLEASE RE-TEST and help us squash any new potential bugs. It isn’t totally done yet, but they’re touch-ups.
-Phase 3 work has finally begun. Moon puzzle images and animations are being worked on. We’re not where we wanted to be, but we’ve set a deadline for this Friday.
-Our original goal of October 1 is still there, but Adad has been very busy. He hopes to be able to work on Phase 4 soon... ADAD YOU BETTER FINISH THIS ASAPPPP!!
-Please check out the release schedule that we have posted on the forums. It is an ideal set up and is part of Tbone’s wildest dreams.
-We need to update all of the FA gear. We need to replace symbols and replace artwork. Check out the very first post and post some stuff for us to review. ANYONE WITH PHOTOSHOP EXPERIENCE IS VERY WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO DO SO. ENOCH, LAZARUS, I’m looking at you because Manic is busy. DO IT.
-Please also submit your 15 names.
-Tbone is attending the Steven Colbert Rally awesomeness thing with some other FA members. Tincanhitman said that he was also going to go, along with yotogi and Dagonet. Feel free to contact Tbone if you’re going to be there Oct 30th in DC.

TOR Updates:
Advanced classes updates.  Nothing we didn't already know, but still a good read.  Some small visual updates to the Holonet on swtor.net  Rumors of a new wave of testing invites.  Supposedly if you are chosen as a tester, you are assigned a class to play, and asked to report feedback on missions/abilities/etc.

Challenge updates:
We missed our October 1st deadline.  Hoping against hope to finish on Thursday, October 7th, to go live on the 8th.  Lots of bug fixes on Adad's side.  Some features still not implemented.  Testing and feedback is still appreciated!  We caught many bugs, but we can't squash all of them without your help.  We need to you try to break the challenge.  When providing feedback, be as specific as possible with where/how you caught any bugs, so we know how to recreate the conditions that caused the bugs.

Yotogi is adding some nice polish to his portion of the challenge.  Things are coming together!

Once everything is live, we'll go through with distributing the cipher throughout the TOR community.  Once the cipher is out, we wait to see if anyone bites.  If no one bites, we'll take the initial step ourselves to get the conversation rolling.  When people begin to realize that the challenge is associated with us, Tbone will start an official recruitment thread on the TOR forums.  At this point, we all really need to get involved with the TOR community to make our presence known.

FA Gear:
Get your ideas rolling for some new FA gear (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=3822).  If any fonts or images are needed, contact Tbone.

Big Week
Challenge release
-Ended up sending pm's from Faintsignal to 568 names Thursday night (Could only pm 5 people every 60 seconds, so it took a while to get them all out)
-Idea was that thread would be started by these people, before even finished sending out pms a thread rapidly progressed.
-Currently that thread has 668+ posts, 26,425 views!!!
-People still feel galaxy map is bugged; most people who get through do so by persistent clicking
-Tone now changed because people figured out the purpose of followthesignal
-Some of the initial theories about the challenge: Bioware made it, it leads to a beta key, 2 year anniversary of game announcement, etc.

Aftermath
-Faintsignal can no longer PM :-( no worries, all messages sent out
-Threads posted on other sites have been deleted for variety of reasons (like guild advertising or no reasoning), though some of smaller guilds' leaders posted on their own forums/blogs
-Early evidence from trying to create self made thread/posts on other sites has led to an early conclusion that posting our own thread wouldn't have been as good as letting others organically grow the conversation.
-So far about 12 applications over the weekend (and now a couple new members!)
-Recruitment thread was originally deleted because it wasn't blatantly obvious that we're a guild and we're recruiting
-Response back was that the moderators were being overly cautious because of complaints received
-Remember that moderators are leaders of other guilds, they're community people just like we are, so they will be biased
-Some of the complaints from more important guild leaders was because our initial campaign pm'd other leaders and they felt insulted, like it's "in your face we're so awesome," trying to steal them and/or their members away
-We are appeasing the swtor gods to the best of our RP abilities, we have to be careful with "cryptic" messages so as not to seem as spam bumping, hopefully this probationary phase will pass with time if we show through action we're positive members of the community.
-Yes we do realize all other guilds are bumping the hell out of their threads, but please follow the rules strictly, we're being held to a higher standard.
-We're being watched very carefully because we made waves. Don't worry, it's a good thing, now people know who we are. The controversy is press, and any bad or good press is still press.

Where do we go from here?
-If we start posting positively throughout the community, we can win over the people we want to win over.
-We did tread a thin line on being disrespectful, should help us in the long run, but right now we're getting shutdown at a precipitous rate. We're having trouble getting traction with other sites/communities.
-We want to up sell the challenge as a roleplay puzzle game, downplay that it is a guild recruitment tool.
-Discussion of Tbone interviewing, but consensus is to wait for now (story of A to B to C, not just A)
-Discussion of ideas of video on youtube, possibly newsfeed/FA intro trailer. Possibility of something in the future, but right now we're focusing on the immediate future.
-We want to get exposure for the content we already have without threads getting deleted and without pissing off people on swtor boards, darth hater, and torocast, etc.
-We have to be posting in threads throughout boards, in a positive, thoughtful manner both in and out of character (depending on the thread type of course)
-LOTS OF POSTING both in and out of SWTOR use cipher signature!
-Keep an eye on the threads discussing our challenge
-BE VERY CAREFUL when posting on recruitment thread/challenge discussion threads. Mods are looking for a reason to satisfy people unhappy with us, don't give them a reason (that includes being overly cryptic, try to tie RP into direct responses).
-You can join in on threads, but don't hijack them, pointing them to our website/challenge.
-Remeber that we're a secretive organization, meaning, we intentionally don't spell out what we're all about (this also means not starting an FA RP thread for the time being).

And lastly...
-Yotogi and Adad, give them many beers and a round of applause, they made the challenge!
-We still need new designs for the FA store, photoshop gurus hop to it!

NOTES:
-SWTOR Updates: New Bio’s for Friday’s update, fleshing out the world’s. Nothing SWEET but still worth it to check out.
-We sent out all of the suggestions gathered to SWTOR guild liaison, and he sent us a thanks back. Hopefully that’s a step in the right direction

-UPDATED SIGNATURES ON THE SWTOR FORUMS. Template with code at the top of page 8 of the FA Signatures

-We finally have a dynamic roster that we can use and its working! Masters need to add Crew members to the roster via the “roster_staff”. Members can find their name and can edit their individual classes/advanced classes. You can just change it on your own, you don’t need to request it. DO NOT EDIT ANY ONE ELSE’S TABLE. IF YOU DO WE CAN FIND OUT AND KICK YOU OUT OF THE GUILD.  Trust system.

-Adad has been creating videos for each of the Orders. They will be released once a week on the forums on Friday’s once they’re all created.

-Nubious81 has passed away. He was in Morpheus’ Legacy in Matrix Online. They are now Revan’s Legacy and are going Dark Side. We were close with them in MXO, and he was still active in their forums.

-Be sure to read the Beta Impression posted by Tbone. The guy was pretty biased and used epic a lot, but it’s a good read.

-Tbone recently talked with someone who knows someone in the Beta. Voices are streamed instead of downloaded. There are four starting planets. There are open PVP worlds (red=dead). There are some servers that have planets that are open PVP and then there are some servers that are entirely open PVP. Instances and Channels. Hutta 1, Hutta 2, Hutta 3, etc. A group was let in in early December and were extended in January. Hopefully we'll get in soon...

-People are still playing League of Legends, Vindictus, Minecraft, BF:BC2. Come in TS and play!!

-SWTOR Updates! New Planet revealed, first completely new planet in the Star Wars Lore, created by Bioware. Warzone planet, PVP planet. Hopefully a lot of fun battles will occur here!
-Speculation today as to when the game is going to be released: EA's is releasing their quarterly reports next week, so we might get some definite information as to when the game is going to be released. Keep an eye on that!
-Speculation that the game was also going to be delayed. Investors think it'll be released Fourth Quarter 2011. Supposedly a false alarm.
-Matrix news?! MXO Emulator finally went live with a "working" version. Free attack move works in combat, no interlock. Can kind of run missions? Check the MXO Emu forums if you're interested. Thread: Umm.. Guys?!
-Supposed rumor that there was going to be a Matrix 4 and 5. Supposedly not true, but you never really know...
-Screenshots for new Batman game were out, but Tbone liked the artwork for the concept art. If we could get a signature template like that, it'd be SICK. Emulate it! odj did a good job, also posted a tutorial.
-Zephic posted RIFT Beta Keys, VIP Key that can be used 25 times. If you're interested, check it out! Ragnarok also might have some spare keys? Mixed reviews by people.
-Everyone has been playing a lot of Battlefield: BC2. New maps have been released for the game recently, so it isn't fun.
-League of Legends is still being played, too.
-Need more activity on the SWTOR Forums!! POST IN THE DAMN RECRUITMENT THREAD!!! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=217630&page=8 (please don't needlessly bump it, only bump it when it's off the first page)
-Obviously, no spam. But just one post a week in the recruitment thread is all we ask.
-Videos that still need to be made: Arch, NoCry, Manic's.
-POST POST POST ON SWTOR!!

UPDATE YOUR SIGNATURES!!!

I haven't been to a meeting in forever.  Mondays (for the past year at least) are impossible for me to do as that's Daddy Lilly fun day and I'm at the mall or park watching her play.  Once teamspeak gets ported to iPhone again I can but I can't ever make it as it is now.  It's extremely egotistical of me to assume that we ever change the day just because of little ole me but does anyone else have this issue too?  If so, Wednesdays and Thursdays are always good for me if it's even an option to move this around.  If not, I 100% understand.  But I figure I'd see what everyones options are.

-SWTOR Updates - Big Friday update was Flashpoints, equivalent of instances. New footage released and a new dissection from Darth Hater.
-Interview with David Bass posted by Ragnarok. Talks about a lot of different things, including a BIG hint that something was coming down the tubes for guilds.
-Specifically, updates to the website. Tbone's intuition is a guild registration system on the SWTOR website.
-Supposedly SWTOR is being delayed until September. This was talked about last week, but it's interesting to note that no Dev's have really responded.
-EA is having its annual investor meeting tomorrow, hopefully we'll get more information.
-The thread title of our Recruitment Title has been changed by David Bass
-Anamodiel went AFK for a while, sorry, missed a lot.
-Veritas video released! It ROCKS!!
-Tbone started talking with this RP guy, and realized we have a major flaw in the Challenge. We need a hook. It's too vague.
-Tbone is going to be working on it with Yotogi and Adad. There's a whole thread on it. Post in there if you have any ideas or talk with Tbone.
-Lots of ideas being thrown around.
-Long fucking meeting. Jesus.
-League of Legends and Bad Company: 2 are being played still. Tbone has started to play LOL so people will probably start playing it soon.

Wow. I've been MIA for a while... notes haven't been posted for a month and a half. I shouldn't be AS busy...

General Notes
-New Guild Headquarters launch! Tbone had been really hoping this was coming down the tubes. David Bass had been hinting at this for a while and it was released on a Wednesday, which is weird. Tbone had the day off and we were able to get everything going right away. Good job EVERYONE on getting on there so fast. It shows how good our communication system is as well as how active everyone is. At the end of the first day we were the largest populated Republic Guild. Very, very impressive.
-Now we are number 19, which is still amazing, considering there are over 10,000 Republic Guilds!
-New button on the toolbar to get right to the SWTOR Guild HQ. Obviously we have our own forums, so we won't be using the private forums.
-Keep an eye on the public forum for posts from others!
-IF YOU ARE LISTED AS UNDECIDED, CHANGE TO A SPECIFIC CLASS.
-Most people are JK/JC, which is in line with the rest of the community.
-PAX East was this weekend. There is a shit ton of content available in the PAX East thread.
-Jaypee and Venlar were at the event, they'll tell us more about it later.
-Fun fact of the day: We broke the record for number of users online, which was during Victoriah's interview... Nice, guys, nice.
-New Trailer which was hella cool. Be sure to check it out! It's all gameplay footage, too. It's really, really cool. They also posted a Taral V walkthrough, Flashpoint shown at PAX East. Good videos posted on PAX East thread. It was a level 31 Flashpoint and was dumbed down so that people wouldn't get annihilated.
-Recommended videos: The ones that showed off Tatooine and Hutta. Daniel Erickson narrates. Very Star Wars looking planets with many open spaces.
-Space Combat videos showcased as well. Very similar to Star Fox in terms of gameplay. Paitryn played it and he said that it was a lot of fun, even if it is a tunnel shooter.
-Sith Warrior Origin videos show difference between the two videos. The new build is SO MUCH more polished than the old leaked version from leakerz.net. It's just absolutely amazing the difference.
-Tython looks incredible. The person playing is a 10-year old, so it's really painful to watch, but you get to see Tython. There are still many videos that haven't been posted on the forums, but we've tried to get the best videos possible.
-A lot of information and interviews were also done there.
-Guild stuff: Guild Capital ships in at release or shortly after. COLOR MATCHING!! We don't know what that means, but the implication is is that it'll make all the armour look decent together (IE blue shirt, red pants would be made to match) or it could mean you get to choose the colors.
-Tbone is still sifting through other information; we'll link it after the interview.
-They're also looking at different mobile apps to somehow connect you to the game - we'll see what that turns into.
-The guild system is now implemented in SWTOR... meaning GUILDS ARE CURRENTLY TESTING IN SWTOR RIGHT NOW WHICH IS BULLSHIT.
-Still no SWTOR release date: Still just 2011. If anything, they'll give us a release date the EARLIEST at E3.
-Our recruitment thread has been posted in a lot more - GOOD JOB! This is a good thing for us - we've had a lot of traffic on our site as well.
-There are 10,000 Republic Guilds. Over 20 new pages of Republic guilds in the Recruitment forum have been created since last Wednesday. There is SO MUCH traffic on those forums that if our Recruitment thread isn't bumped every other hour, it fades to the third or fourth page VERY QUICKLY. CONTINUE TO POST ON IT
-Phase 2 of the guild recruitment is being able to choose 3 Allies and Adversaries so that you're on the same server as those other guilds. Be looking at potential guilds that we could ally up and be adversaries with.
-Eternal Vigilance is a good group to be an ally with. They were the first group to finish the challenge and were great to us when we first launched.
-Revan's Legacy could be a potential Adversary. They only have three or four members on their guild HQ right now, but we'll see how many they eventually have.
-Collective are operating as a Republic guild. Tbone doesn't know if we'll be able to work with them.
-Tbone's schedule is going to get crazy. He has a day and a night job now. He won't have a free day or evening. Monday evenings will be the only night he has off.
-He'll still be around occasionally, just not as much as he has been recently.
-We've updated the beginning of the Challenge. Please be sure to test it to make sure that we've ironed out any last minute bugs. Revalis has been great in helping. It clarifies and hooks people into the story. Very interactive at the beginning rather than making people wonder if it's working. We want to go live with this later this week.
-Other changes: furiousangels.com website. Trying to incorporate Orders into the main website, including the videos. Yotogi is working on that. He's on vacation this week, but home, so he should hopefully be able to get that done this week as well.
-We should be in a good place for a while once this is all done. Tbone is liking the way everything is coming together in a more uniform way.
-Games people are playing: Dragon Age 2; it's a lot of fun, according to Tbone. He spent his entire weekend playing it. Combat is a lot more fun. Champions Online is another crowd pleaser. Victoriah and Arch are playing, as well as League of Legends. Sometimes we'll have more visitors than we do members because everyone and their mother is playing LOL. haha.

-Jaypee's impressions:
-Friday: One of the first 20 to get in line, got in line early for TOR. Had to wait an hour or two back. 45 minute gameplay sessions a piece.
-Developers were walking around the entire time to talk to people.
-Hal Hood talked with Jaypee, who wrote the story of Taral V. Difficulties of multiplayer dialogue, his favorite lines (sarcastic humor).
-Jaypee played a Smuggler, cover system was very fluid and jumping cover to cover was really easy. Anyone familiar with any MMO mechanics will find it very easy to get into.
-Jaypee had a small bug, DC'd before the last boss, but got a free hat out of it.
-Line was packed, so anyone not in line couldn't play.
-Daniel Erickson threw Jaypee a hat. Mentioned FA, said he didn't handle too much guild stuff.
-David Bass immediately recognized our name. Impressed at how fast we got into the Guild HQ, and asked him what he thought of the system.
-Saturday: The press beat everyone else to the game, even though Jaypee got there early.
-Sunday: FIRST in line with his buddies. Jaypee got interviewed. While in line, ran into one of the members of FoE, one of the main Sith guilds.
-Jaypee was very vocal, acted spastic. Talked to half of the line about TOR. Played Trooper Vanguard; didn't like it and personally won't play it. Ammo system was "aggravating". If you have any questions, ask him about it.
-First group on Sunday to beat the Boss. Got two posters for his efforts. Got Republic and Empire posters, both the T-shirts.
-Meet and Greet was fantastic. Was in the 2nd session, talked with a World Developer Eric Young. Developed Coruscant and talked about how bad-ass it is to work with Bioware and his creative freedom in terms of Lucas licensing.
-Also talked with Allison Barryman and how she got into the career.
-Daniel Erickson right before the event ended, Lore questions. LORE BOMB/SPOILER ALERT. Ask Jaypee if you're really interested regarding Satile (sp?)

-Venlar's Impressions:
-Was only there for one day.
-Didn't get to play the Flashpoint. Overslept.
-Community Liaison David came up to him, made Venlar the end of the line. It was around 5pm and he came up to Venlar, saying they don't know whether they're going to get to everyone.
-Allowed him to play the origin worlds. Clicked to create a character. Every single race was available for Jedi Knight!
-Played Jedi Knight, Zaarbrik Female. Saw a decent amount of Tython. Started off as JK, skipped any tutorial. Started when Fleshraiders are attacking the settlement. "Really impressed", the most well polished MMO I've ever played. AND ITS STILL NOT DONE YET. Had high expectations already.
-Get through the dialogue, jumps on speeder, starts up with the combat. Very smooth, has auto-look. Similar feeling to the combat in Dragon Age II. No auto-attack in SWTOR. Animations are exceptional.
-Only ran into one bug where an enemy was frozen in place, un-interactible. No big deal.
-Was able to sit next to the Dark Knight, well known member of the community. Mentioned FA to him and Bass.
-Gameplay: Got through a few different quests, freed a few Padawans from the Fleshraiders. Got sent to a cave, had to clear the cave, found someone who was commanding the flesh raiders, had a big dialogue sequence, then Venlar kicked his ass.
-Went back to Jedi Temple, Jedi Master was beginning to lay things out for him and he was told his time was up.
-Graphics, playability: VERY impressed. The whole experience was a lot of fun, worth waiting for hours. Managed to catch quick Q&A, talked about the guild ships, storyline stuff (Emperor of the Sith, didn't give much away. Character you'll eventually meet in-game.)
-Venlar plugged Live Events in an attempt to talk about FA, asked about it at the Q&A. Ran out of time before they could answer.
-Origin worlds are not instanced, thank God. It's not a solo experience. Did notice that when you see another character in-game, you see a Title/Rank IE Padawan, so it could potentially be another way to see people's Rank in-game.
-The questing felt like it was on an entirely different level in terms of interactivity, will definitely be even more important as you progress further and further in the game. Decisions really DO have an impact on the Game.

If you have any further questions, they'll be in TS to talk to whenever. :)

Also, one thing I've been doing lately is taking just a single piece of punctuation in each of my normal posts, and making it a hyperlink to followthesignal.net.  (like so. (http://followthesignal.net/))  The link is already in our sig, of course, but I think having a random comma link to the challenge is a good way to rouse curiosity in those who ignore signatures.

-SWTOR Updates: PVP info released. Check out the threads on the forums.
-If you don’t have your permissions to get into Teamspeak, it’s a file. You have to EXPORT it and bring it to a different file. There’s no reason to have three different identities for the same person just because you have three different computers. Anamodiel has three different computers with my identity on it. (Settings=>Identities=>Export)
-Broin is in charge of talking with Eternal Vigilance. Hopefully we’ll have some progress on that front soon.
-The latest iteration of the Challenge is ready to go Live! Be sure to take a look at it for any last minute bugs. The team ironed it out very well and everyone gave us incredible feedback. Thank you for the help, and thank you Revalis and the rest of the Web Team for helping us out with everything.
-With the Challenge done, we’re going to focus on getting the main website up to date. One thing at a time. :)

(don't worry Tbone, I already saved my identity)
Title: Weekly FA Meetings
Post by: Anamodiel on June 20, 2011, 09:19:55 pm
YAY!!! Anamodiel is back once a week to take notes. HHHUUUUZZZZAAAAHHHHHH!!!

-Tbone's moving apartments next week! In and out of town for the next 2/3 weeks. Tech rehearsals. Overnight there for some of the nights!
-SWTOR Updates: Slower after E3. Lots of news came out from that, so be sure to get all caught up on that stuff. Official site posted a bunch of awards from E3.
-No release date announced.... and there's no traditional open beta. fml. fyl. fol's.
-blah blah blah secret swtor stuff. You should have come if you wanted to know... or you can just catch Tbone in TS.
-Group mechanics make it hard for Tbone to group with the lower level's. There's no "mentor" system in this game. A little bothersome because its going to be hard to stay the same level as your groupmates.
-Tbone did group up with three other random people on X planet, and he had a fun time. The planet is HUGE and he almost got lost.
-Website is working on the final touches to the www.thefuriousangels.com site.
-Lits is going to do a recording for us a hook to get people from www.thefuriousangels.com to www.followthesignal.net
-We are still trying to figure out ways to make the two more cohesive. That's for another day.
-Submitted our guild recruitment video. We're waiting on the award thread to be posted on the 29th. It was the original Teaser video we had released more than a year ago ("Are you an Angel?")
-Tbone wants to create another cool recruitment video that encompasses our entire challenge, essentially. We can't decide whether we want to wait to use ingame footage or start creating the video now. It'd be a teaser of a type of gameplay you could expect from us.
-We can't rely on MXO and what we did then. MXO was much smaller. People know of us, but not everyone knows what we're about and we can't expect people to flock to us just by doing the same exact thing we did in MXO.

-**IMPORTANT**!!

-Once the game comes out, we really want to make sure that the guild takes precedent. What Tbone means by that is that we're all in this guild because we like being able to group up together.
-It's not helpful when a community of players don't GAME with you. There's always a risk of that happening. We don't mean that you can't play with other people. Tbone gave examples in the thread he's mentioning.
-It's just that, making sure that the guild is able to accomplish what it needs to accomplish to ensure success for both the guild and the individual.
-Part of what made us successful in MXO, EVERYBODY helped out, whether someone was in trouble or someone had an event going on. No one could really pick on just one person because we would SWARM. It's an important quality that we have.
-Tbone wants everyone to have the mentality of helping out the guild first and foremost, and yourself second. As Anamodiel believes in karma, what goes around comes around. If you help someone out, you bet your ass someone is going to be helping you out.
-We want to squash the attitude that the guild isn't as important as whatever you're doing. We don't want people to ignore the guild.
-If you're gaming and you can't even take the time to come and talk with us for 30 minutes once a week, that really seems like a bit of a problem, and could only begin to sow the seeds for down the road.
-Obviously, while sometimes the meetings are boring or "don't really matter", the same thing could be said about PVP or Raiding or RPing or whatever. It's a courtesy thing.

-If you need any clarifications, please talk with Tbone.
-We're not here to limit your playstyle. We just want to make sure a system is in place to maximize everyone's potential ingame when the time comes, and we want people to be aware of it now.
-As well, once we get closer to release, we'll figure things out and and be more specific.

-Basically, my view: The meeting is once a week for 30 minutes. It isn't mandatory. But it's the only thing that we do together as a whole guild right now until the game comes out. If you're at your computer, just pop into TS and listen in and make some pizza or watch some porn or do whatever you do at the computer. THE END.

Hey guys... I wanted to post something in regards to the fact I've missed so many meetings recently. Unfortunately life has been a bit hectic lately. I've been scheduled most Monday nights recently on dish washing shifts at my restaurant so needless to say I'm getting out pretty late. I am trying to work something out with my boss at the moment so hopefully this won't be an issue much longer. Also my best friend is getting married next month and I'm his best man... so I can definitely foresee myself being a bit inactive until late august early September. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and let you know what's going on. I have definitely not lost interest in FA or SWTOR it's just life well... being life.

Please forgive any sentence fragments. I was typing like a maniac and Tbone talks really fast.

-It's Broin's favorite night of the week; time to make fun of Anamodiel!
-Be sure to vote for AstralFire's story: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=429519
-We're on the home stretch of the game! GET IN GEAR!
-SWTOR Updates: Not much official updates. Consular received a Trailer (finally), and this Friday was Fan Friday with some artwork.
-Because the news has been slow, we can expect a good bit this week. EA is having a conference tomorrow at 9am FA time, and Gamescon is this week. PAX is next week. It's the deep breath before the plunge.
-GUILD TESTING IS HAPPENING!!!!! People are getting invited into the Beta as a guild. First Wave just went out, and, obviously, we were not a part of that. We're hoping to get into a second wave.
-If you can think of anything that can get us some extra attention, you might as well try it.
-THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Ramp up your activity on the forums TEN FOLD. Everyone should have the FA signature in the TOR forums. Get involved in everything you can. Anything you're interested in, jump in and take apart of it.
-Answer questions if you can, do whatever you can to POSITIVELY contribute to the discussion. Our recruitment thread HAS to stay on the first page (but don't spam bomb it).
-Be sure any post you make is at least a little thoughtful. While we're advocating both quality and quanitity, quality is more important.
-The reward for this is BETA! If all of us are able to get in, we'll be able to get a head start on the game and we'll be able to hit the ground running FAST.
-We're not known for our community events
-Tbone was very talkative at the latest guild council, and David Bass was there. We're visible, but just not in the way that some of those large guild that run the fan sites and the different guild competitions.
-Once release date hits, we're going to get really organized to see who's going to be able to fully powerlevel, who's going to be more casual. Essentially we'll ask for everyone's schedule.
-Try to start checking the FA website more often, and definitely check out the SWTOR forums a good bit, too.
-Website tweaks: Roser slightly updated. You can choose a drop-down menu of the different columns that chooses both your Class and Subclass. A pre-order column is now in there instead.
-Orders have been upped to 16 now.
-We've been working on streamlining the Challenge at the galaxy map part. Please think of it as a new recruit, and if you don't know the correct answer, please give us your input. Go to the beta link and see if it makes sense to you.

There's no way on God's green earth that I'm going to be able to make this meeting, even if David Bass himself were showing up. My roommates and I are throwing a massive rager at our house. If you guys stay on long enough, you'll see me in rare form on Teamspeak as the night goes on, if I'm lucky enough to make it onto Teamspeak.

Sorry!!

Someone please be sure to highlight Astral's story many times throughout the meeting. Link it as often as you can. Grazie!

-SWTOR Updates: Pointless Gamescon Video. Showed different people running around and talking about SWTOR.
-Lots of videos and screenshots have been posted on alterSWTOR. With the large beta waves, we should expect a lot more leaks.
-None of us got into the Beta testing this weekend. For the next weekend, we should hear tomorrow! Keep your emails open.
-Updates have been made to the website, with different guides having been posted and the like. there's a specific section on the forums for guides.
-Tbone has been working on the Jedi Sentinel guide, and its in pretty good shape. If those in Beta can start doing that for their specific class, that'd be swell.
-We had a big voting push for AstralFire, and he ended up winning the competition for the Roleplaying Stories! It got heated for a while, and he was only within 6 votes.
-When things get heated like that, don't buy into it. Stay positive and keep the high ground. Don't respond to the useless trolling of other people.
-Once we start getting in game and getting those big rivalries, remember its more effective to either completely ignore people when they throw out those accusations. It generally spirals and gets worse and worse.
-September issue of the TORmag came out. It's an old-school type thing where you download the PDF and you read an e-magazine. We have some advertisements on the Table of Contents, which is awesome because it's the first page.
-Keep bumping the recruitment thread, stay active on the SWTOR forums.
-Tbone PM'd David Bass about the updates to our Challenge, but he never replied. We'll let you know if we hear back from him.
-Couple people are still playing TOR. Some people will stream it; don't take any screenshots or record it because we could all get in serious trouble.
-Everyone else is playing LoL, Deus Ex, BFBC2.
-Pretty chill time right now. We're in a holding pattern waiting for some major invite for everyone. It could happen at any moment, so keep yourself on your toes. :)

Remember, it's CONSULAR. Not counselor. Noobs.

Well, old school in the way that not many websites anymore make you download a PDF anymore to read the magazine. You just click article links on the website and peruse that way. You don't flip from one page to another, unless you're on an e-reader.

Plus, I'm just the secretary. Those were Tbone's words, not mine.

First time notes, Pardon if i missed anything Tbone talks very quickly

-Tbone will be back in full swing on things on Wednesday

-New imperial agent progression video has been released. Emails about changing the security of the accounts are being sent out. Basically it'll be a password reset, don't be alarmed.

-Early access has been nailed down. 5 days before launch (December 15th) staggered launch until december 20th. Estimated pre-order date can be checked in this thread (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=7144)

-Phase 3 has started. We are ready to go since we only need 4 pre-orders to count.

-the RP-PVP server set is not being supported through phase 3. They didn't decide to have one until the system was already created. Based on the TS member base we're probably heading towards this server.

-Roleplay suggestion thread (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=7135) has been created, take a look at it to see what's expected of us, how we do things in terms of acting with the public / recruitment, etc.

-Also, Tbone finally typed out and organized a complete version of the lore / history of the FA within TOR. A good chunk of info thanks to Subb and Keeloth. Good read, check it out the  thread (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=7133) for more in depth roleplay / character developement.

-Tbone is working on a new calendar system to help with event sign ups

-Final Check-in! One last activity check to make sure everyone is ready. Please do sign up and do it THROUGH THE THREAD (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?topic=7144), regardless of how active you are. This is for the sake of organization and cleanliness.

-Inactive emails have been sent out as well for those that haven't checked into an order or haven't signed up on TS.

-A new post by the guild MERC, Mos Eisley Radio Community, has left a flattering post (http://thefuriousangels.com/index.php?msg=111223) on our forum. Their server choice as of this post is still unknown.

-People are back in beta with lots of new feedback in regards of what is changed. One more Big wave incoming (in the thousands?). Not sure if limited / open trial period. Tbone's guess is this weekend or next weekend.

-Sentinel is having higher dps output now along with lots of other new improvements incoming. Crafting has improved which is currently being tested by various members. Soon as a new patch hits, our beta folks are going to be updating the info to be as close to launch information as possible.

-Make sure to fill out your profile / roster information (preorder, crafting, advanced class, etc).

-Lots of games coming out (Skyrim, PC-Arkham City, BF3, PC-La Noire, DCUO-F2P)Indulge now and get it out of your system, because when TOR hits we're going full force!

-One last tidbit, subtract 5 days from the countdown for early access. Expect lots more information on guilds within the next few weeks and try and be active. We're getting fully prepared now to hit the ground running with TOR.

Haha, you kinda forgot to mention the discussion on PvP or RP-PvP server. Oh well, details coming.

I actually had that written up but felt that since the decision for RP-PVP had been pretty much made that it would have just been beating a dead horse.
Title: Weekly FA Meetings

-Lots of stuff tonight!!
-Update on account security on swtor.com. You have to update your password; it's not a phising email!
-Open Beta weekend is starting at an undetermined date. That means everyone should have received an email and everyone should be playing in the Beta, assuming you registered to play in the Beta. We assume its a weekend test that everyone will most likely participate in at the same time as a major stress test.
-The ongoing guess is Thanksgiving or the weekend before release. Clear those schedules!!
-FA News! The biggest thing is the guides we have. Yes, we do have guides. There were many issues with people not reading the guides we have on the forums. These are created so you don't go in blind to the game so that you don't have to ask a million questions when you're in game.
-READ THROUGH THE GUIDES BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PLAYING SOON. Figure out crafting, figure out leveling, figure out the UI, and watch some videos. Many questions asked this weekend could have been answered by just checking the forums.
-Obviously, questions are still fine, but try to be as prepared as possible. It gets annoying getting asked the same questions 2309470234 times.
-People who have permanent access to Beta have been able to do whatever they want with it. You guys haven't contributed very much knowledge to the guild.
-One great example is the Hammer Flashpoint.
-A couple of our members are very well versed in the game and have many great strategies for how to do different things. However, a large portion of our guild doesn't know very much about the specifics of the game. We need these sort of resources to get past any stumbling blocks.
-WE NEED TO VERIFY COORDINATES OF DATACRONS AND MATRIX SHARDS. GET SPECIFICS AND MAKE SURE COORDINATES ARE UP TO DATE.
-FLASH POINT BOSSES SHOULD BE A PRIORITY. Those running on Empire now need to go Republic and figure out all the different Flashpoints. Do all the Flashpoints, starting at the one that Tbone left off at. Do it in the same format. It takes about 30 seconds to do after completeing each boss.
-If you have the time, Datacrons are important, too.
-If you guys are starting with high level characters, you guys can roll through that stuff. It's not really asking too much, because you won't even get aggro'd by most of the stuff.
-Need start cords / brief description of where start / what to do to get to them / end cords of where data cron is / what it gives
-We need more class guides. We only have the Sentinel, Gunslinger, and Guardian guides. If you have spent any time playing the Beta, start one with the information you can find. There's a website with the talent trees already on them. Start theory-crafting! Some of the classes don't have any guides started for them, and we need that before Launch.
-The classes do change, but the basics of it are the same. It helps someone choose which class they want to use, and it helps people know which abilities are the main abilities that they'll be used.
-We need to better utilize our knowledge of the game and get this information out there. Just don't post any information that can be traced back to you (IE images with your name on them)
-We're not trying to compete with the information data sites. We're really trying to create guides that are specific to the guild. Everyone is going to have their different strategies on those different sites. We just want one thing that is manageable for everyone to find.
-It's incredibly useful to have a compliation of all of these sites, too, on your posts.
-The plan for the next weekend beta testing is to group the experienced players with the inexperienced players for the Big Beta Weekend.
-FA COINS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE!!! There are two versions, one for veterans and one for people who are with us at Launch.
-Check your name on the list and pay Tbone. We have a limited supply and we're going to sell them until we run out. However, many people are ordering more than 1, so be sure to get yours s00o0o0o0n. Make sure your payments match up. Tbone's working with a lot of people, so some things get lost in translation.
-Hopefully by this time next week we will have a new calendar system in place to sign up for different events (Raids, PVP nights, Questing groups, etc.). It's a more efficient way of organizing things, and will hopefully get implemented soon!
-CHECK IN THREAD!!!!! A FEW OF YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED IN YET. CHECK IN!! CHECK IN!! They will be put in the inactive group, will receive an email, and you'll be deleted. Even if you're around all the time, you MUST CHECK IN. It takes 5 seconds. Do it.
-Testing went well last week, and we asked for people's responses. Everyone in Teamspeak seemed to be having a lot of fun when playing, and no one had many complaints.
-Crafting in game has gotten a lot better. There are many more mod-slots now attached to different gears, and you can actually remove the mod-slots from that piece of armour and add it to a different piece.
-Plan for Open Beta: Tbone and some of the other people have done content 1-25 many different times, and we literally can't do it again until release.
-Many of the veterans will take the time to help you through the game and roll with many different groups to help spread knowledge as much as possible
-There's a bit of a learning curve with the UI and the map and questing lines, and anyone who's Beta tested can really help out. It's basically a mentor program, because we want to hit the ground running at release. We want everyone to have an intermediate understanding of the game.
-Our intent isn't to get everyone powerleveled up. We just want everyone to get used to the game, and we want everyone to be able to be on Coruscant so we can all PVP together.
-There's maps on the PVP warzones, and some basic strategies. We'll refine these as we go on.
-After Coruscant, there's no sense in going to the other planets and grinding because it's all going to get wiped. We want everyone to have a basic understanding of PVP, and maybe we can take out a world boss. Of course, you can power level further if you want, but it might be more beneficial to leave that for release.
Title: Weekly FA Meetings
Post by: Anamodiel on December 05, 2011, 09:44:23 pm
-Second to last meeting before Launch! AHHHHH!!! The last meeting will be on Wednesday immediately before Launch.
-We're going to go over a bunch of stuff for Launch. It's a CRAZY TIME! AHH! So, so excited. Tbone is "terrified" because there's so much going on. We're ready to get over this hump.
-It's a big transition going from talking about the game to playing a bit to playing full time where nothing is theoretical. We're trying to make sure all of the bases are covered and the transition is smooth.
-We cannot add anyone else to the guild list right now because we're so close to launch. We will be manually choosing a server (RP-PVP), so you'll get an email with a server name.
-WE WILL NOT BE GOING TO THIS SERVER, AS ITS A PVP ONLY SERVER. That server is a fall-back plan. We won't know what server we'll be playing until Launch, unless they give us the server name before hand. You will be informed of this as soon as we are made aware of what server we're going to choose.
-Early access information is incoming. Early access is 5 days before and is staggered, but this email will tell you what day you're getting in and any information regarding the Early Access. Look for it, as it should answer a lot of your questions.
-Beta is over for everyone!! :( :( :( Ended with a /dance party. They're preparing everything for Launch now.
-Tbone created a thread on how to prepare your current game files for Launch. Be sure to check this out! If you played the Beta before November 25th, you need to uninstall and reinstall. If you played during the Thanksgiving Open Beta, you won't have to uninstall. Check to see what files you need to delete. Check that thread out!!
-Tbone has put up the new Raid Calendar. We're signed up for a GuildPortal free site, and it has some features specific to SWTOR with planets and the like already premade. We've hacked it onto our site. We know its not the cleanest, but its the most efficient. We've taken care of any of the problems, and you can do everything from our site.
-Please create an account on the GuildPortal. Go to the Raid Calendar option, and then register. "Apply to this Guild", create an account, submit, and Tbone just has to approve it. You can create and join events. For now this is what we'll be using for the forseeable future.
-We're working on our own calendar that will have a majority of the same things, but its still being worked on. But, if you get a chance, familiarize yourself with the calendar now before Launch.
-In order to group up, this will be a great tool to find someone to group with in the guild for questing. You can choose planet and how long you're going to play and whether you're going to be watching all of the quest cinematics.
-Questing Group: "Spacebar". The creator of the event approves you joining the individual event.
-If you haven't watched the Tutorial video, look at it so you can get at least a little familiar with part of the UI.
-Faction goals are something we need to start talking about. The first big goal we should have is taking down the Raid Boss on Coruscant. He's only level 16, and it'd be great to be the first guild to take him down!
-Broin started a thread about this, so feel free to contribute any ideas. PVP is going to be a big thing.
-It might be a good idea to do a mix of PVP and Questing. Do 3 PVP Warzone's per level and you will keep your valor Rank up. You'll be playing a lot of catch up if you wait until 50.
-Making the FA uniform is going to be a big challenge, but we're very interested in doing it. Anything that shines white is a candidate. Save your white gear, and keep it in your cargo bay, even if its the wrong stats or the wrong level. Even if its just a social uniform, it'd be sick to have a white uniform for everyone in the faction.
-Another goal might be to come out with a Machinima video. It's definitely going to be a challenge!
-If there are any goals you think we should accomplish, please partake!
-Crafting! We talked about this before the meeting, and we came to the realization that in game there's no way for guilds to check their crafter's recipe's lists (like an internal trade network). There's no way to send a request to a specific person because you can't see what anyone can craft.
-We're hopeful there will be something better in the future, but right now we're creating threads for dedicated crafters to post in and all the recipes that they have. You'll post in there and update your post overtime. You can easily link to the TORhead Database, so you don't have to type out all the stats and components. You can link directly to it, and when you hover over it, all the stuff will appear!
-Currently the TOR database doesn't have the prototype/artifact versions (IE Blue/Purple) in their database. Look at Tbone's example for what you should put if you have the advanced version. We should have enough dedicated crafters who will take the time to update their lists.
-If we just did a request thread, no one specifically is held accountable. It takes much longer to get with someone and the post may just get lost in the forums.
-We don't want to clutter the crafter thread with requests because we want it to just be a database. Tbone is going to think of the best way to request something.
-Tbone was very busy working this weekend. Tbone got the payments for the coins, and he's going to try to send all of them out if he has enough orders.
-Datacron guide was updated half way through Balmoraa. This should help us get that edge early on, as you won't have to spend 2 hours looking for Datacrons. Once you get to Balmoraa, we'll figure things out for you guys.
-In regards to Flashpoints, we'll do our best. We weren't able to get everything done, but we'll be there to help you guys out as much as possible.
-For server choice, for the RP-PVP server, we're going East Coast, Last letter of the Alphabet. Once that server is identified, we'll send out an email, text blast, and we'll post it on the forums. 99% sure it won't be the server Bioware emails us.
-RP stuff, if you haven't read the history of the Furious Angels thread, Keeloth is still working on the complete detailed version. However, all you need to read is the synopsis. I would recommend reading it just to get the vibe.
-Be sure to check out the RP guidelines stuff. We might do some impromptu stuff while in a group as simple as telling someone to follow the signal and then all quick traveling at the same time. This isn't as effective or cool if one or two of you are yammering away and not paying attention to direction.
-It should be stated again that we do NOT trash talk or grief. If someone's guilded up, its Red=Dead. There will be no hooey with neutral Sith guilds. If someone is guilded up, its red=dead. We don't grief just to grief, however.
-If you run into an Imperial guy in the Republic area, he's probably there to grief other people. However, if you're in the Imperial territory, you're in a group of 4, and you come across a single guy who's unguilded, it's not OK to attack him first. If he's not looking for trouble, don't bother him.
-We don't spawn kill people over and over. Treat the enemy with dignity. If you have any questions, ask an Officer. We're also not going to ruin an RP event of a Sith guild.
-Quick website discussion: Staff was talking about the idea of moving to a different content management system, especially with the recent Guild Raid Calendar stuff. PostNuke is very out of date and not supported. There are many valid reasons why we could switch over. We're toying around with it.
-If anyone has any expertise with it, even if its just solutions for our site. Lithium is our web guy. We've looked at Droopal and the like, and if you have any advice, let us know!
-These systems are as good as the people that use them. These systems won't be very effective if no one uses them (guild raid calendar, mainly). USE THEM!

Title: Weekly FA Meetings
Post by: Anamodiel on December 11, 2011, 09:18:19 pm
-For those of you living under a rock, pre-release has been pushed up to Tuesday morning for those lucky enough to get in, 6am FA time.
-Big groups should be there at release regardless of the changes in time. If you think that you pre-ordered early enough and have that time available, join us!
-COME INTO TEAMSPEAK!!! I promise, we're fun.
-SWTOR forums are down right now - they're getting their launch site ready, so there'll be a lot of shiny new things to look at there. New forums, too, with new posts.
-Tbone is hoping that maybe there'll be some functionality similar to the Armory like they have for WoW. Pipedreams, obviously, but still fun to think about.
-Big thing: There's no grace period. You can get in for early access, but they're taking the server down on the 19th at 10pm, and the server will be brought up the next morning. You will not be able to access the game once the server comes back up unless you put in your order code.
-Obviously, this is a big problem for a lot of people because a lot of people ordered off of Amazon. Amazon is having a complete "clusterfuck"; some people have release date delivery and some don't.
-Tbone and Broin have been talking with Amazon trying to get different information, and there has been a lot of talk. There's nothing concrete, yet, and both Bioware and Amazon are aware of the issue.
-It's weird because some of the first people to pre-order were not given the option for Release Date Delivery.
-Broin's been told that even though it doesn't say release date delivery, it's expected to go out and be delivered by the 20th.
-Tbone's been told that once they get additional inventory in, they'll move people up to release date delivery. Tbone's been checking up with them daily, and he's shelling out extra money just to get it ASAP.
-We'll keep you updated in every way that we can. Hopefully Bioware will decide to allow a grace period. We'll see...
-Couple last minute things to prepare for Launch.
-Make sure you're patched and have the Launcher downloaded now, that way you're not trying to download a large patch or dealing with slow download speeds.
-We're looking for new leadership. There's a big thread on it, you can't miss it in the Recent Announcements. We'll need 1, possibly 2.
-Adad won't be able to join us for Launch. He was Master of Aequitas. All hands on deck for Launch! We're looking for new leaders. We posted what we're looking for.
-It will be a Staff decision this time around. We've done it like that before, and it's worked out well.
-We have a lot of strong personalities and a lot of people who have done this so far, so the Staff and Tbone are excited.
-It's not a position of grandeur. Anamodiel doesn't get to boss anyone around or any fun stuff like that. He does all the grunt work with emails and Broin interviews everyone.
-Hopefully everyone's watched the video tutorials, and Broin has posted several videos with several features of the game. It's just random little tid bits about the game that even people who have played in the Beta might not know about.
-It's good stuff to know going in; Tbone even learned new stuff!
-We're starting to put into motion the idea of a Hardcore group or a Competitive Group of FA members.
-We have a lot of different members with a lot of different playstyles, but we've always been very competitive, especially in PVP.
-Who is interested in being a part of that Hardcore group for Raiding/Powerleveling/PVP/World Firsts/etc.
-Tbone started the thread, trying to get an idea of who is interested.
-The idea is NOT to exclude people, but it's to have a core base who we can depend on to know that this set of people will be able to be there 95% of the time.
-Most users ever online on the website for tonights meeting! We broke the record. It's 29 now!
-Through inside sources who have inside sources, the first day of early access, there will only be ONE PVP-RP server. Jung Ma. It's not verified 100%, but the source is reliable enough and they had no reason to not provide it.
-We're not going to post that officially if they switch up the names last minute. Double check to make sure it's the RP-PVP server.
-Remember, we are not going to the server we're pre-loaded.
-DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE RP-PVP SERVER. BROIN WILL HUNT YOU DOWN.
-The crafting threads Tbone made, someone had an idea to post only the rare recipes you get, rather than all. It'll be simpler.
-Tbone finished the Datacron guide, supposedly. There might be some details that are wonky, but there are some videos, so we should be good to go.
-If you're playing on Tuesday, show up about 30 minutes early. The last thing you want to do is get there 5 minutes before and realize you have a 20 minute download on your hands.
-You can log in without getting your email. No one knows for certain whether you're getting in. If you pre-ordered on the first day, you'll LIKELY get in, but it's not 100%. Once 6am FA time hits, try to log in and see if you get that play button. That's what we're doing.
-So, don't worry about refreshing your email.
-Sign up on our Raid Calendar!! This will be used for general events and initial launch grouping so you can group up right away. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR LEVELING UP ON YOUR OWN. SERIOUSLY. If there's not a group, make a group.
-The calendar is not a Bible by any means, but it's a helpful organizational tool.
-It is a pet peeve of Tbone and Anamodiel if you are in-game and not in Teamspeak. GET IN TEAMSPEAK. TEAMSPEAK TEAMSPEAK TEAMSPEAK!!
-THE POINT OF JOINING US WAS TO GAME WITH US. Join us in Teamspeak, even just so people know you're in-game. If you have sounds going on around you or you need to be quiet, there are buttons to mute your headphones and microphone.
-We've got a ton of interviews of people rushing right before Launch. We're trying to get in as many interviews as we can.
-This will likely be our last meeting for a while. Staff needs to think of a good post-Launch strategy. Monday nights might turn into a PVP or Raid night. We'll be doing more gaming and less talking.
-We might change it to a monthly meeting, as we'll be gaming with each other all the time. It might just be scheduled around interviews.
-Tbone and Anamodiel don't want to have to take the time to have a meeting during the initial Launch rush. I'm sure you feel the same.

Resurrecting this... can't believe I haven't posted notes for so long. o.0

Quote
-Good news from Tbone: he has wayyy too much free time, so he'll be here and on top of things.
-There's a lot going on! 1.3 dropped, there's a lot of new updates with that, including Legacy stuff and RATED WARZONES!
-Sign ups for RWZ's - we have 7 right now set up coming full time, and then a good number of alternates. We'd like to have 8 people who are well geared and can come to the time slot all the time.
-Requirements are in the thread - Tbone would like for the main team to have a good bit of gear. If you're looking to join in rated content and be considered more for that, PVP MORE!!
-Everyone is always PVPing - hop in and get your gear. We'll do sign ups and you'll have priority if you continue to come. It'll be similar to how we sign up for raids.
-We have had 8 people wanting to pvp and we have loaded up RWZ's. This means that if you can find 8 people on at the same time that want to PVP, go for it.
-That team may not potentially be as solid as the main 8-man, but you can still feel free to go for it. There's no restrictions on that sort of stuff.
-You can also PUG into other RWZ's if you feel like.
-Raid/PVE is at a pretty good spot, so we've cut down on the Raid time to allow for an equal amount of PVP time. We'll do that for a while until raid content presents something new, which shouldn't be for a while.
-Monday, Thursday, and Sunday are the PVP nights. They're all late night right now, and we'd like to find a time to do it early in the evening and on the weekend.
-The times that are picked right now are picked because that's the times that we know people can make it. If you're interested in playing earlier in the night, feel free to start to try to start up another team.
-The nice thing about PVP is that there are no lock-outs, so a person on Team Libertas can also PVP in that secondary team.
-Legacy stuff came out as well, and there's a lot of stuff in there!
-Crafting has changed a bit, including augmenting gear is more stable now. If you don't have augmented gear, you are gimping yourself.
-We have the resources to help you out, so feel free to sign up on the forums in those specific threads.
-Tbone also wants to take a moment to talk about negativity.
-He's getting sick of it. We've had this problem since the game launched, and we've had people unhappy with the game and how its progressed.
-Part of it comes from the growing pains of a new game. Negativity isn't going to be responded to well. We can't have negativity, especially in these RWZ's. Once that starts seeping in, the whole team falls apart.
-Obviously we're going to win and we're going to lose, we're going to hit brick walls and we're going to plow through stuff.
-Main point is is that this game is meant to be fun - if you're not having fun, then you need to take a look at yourself and reprioritize some things.
-If you still have issues with things, send a PM to Tbone or bring something up with him privately in Teamspeak.
-And, don't forget, blame Anamodiel.
-Secret World: we have a small group of people playing that right now. Tbone managed to snag a Lifetime account, and we were chosen to be a Founding Cabal (1 of 50 only!)
-The people who are playing that, have fun! We are not fully embracing it or creating more forums for it or really do a lot with the game. However, we'd like to keep people around and keep the community going strong.
-We realize that SWTOR isn't for everyone, so Manic will be running the day to day operations of it. Our forums have the details of the server we're on, etc. It might be a good seconday game for some people.
-We'll do our best to support the game and try to find a good balance, but SWTOR is still our primary game.
