Hey I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this game. Its supposedly free to play, on one server, and the players shape the world.
-
Can you provide any links or more detail? It would save readers the Google search.
I seen to have found their homepage: http://www.fomportal.com/
I'll check it out when I get the chance.
-
. There seems to be info on MMORPG.com about it though.

Open beta starts on Saturday...
Reading a little more, looks like the game was released a while back, got shut down, and is now being re-released by the original developer and a new publisher.
-
Open beta starts on the 5th, I've created an account and I'm downloading the client as I type :D
It's captured my attention for sure. I've got nothing else I'm playing as of now, so I have the time to explore it. I'll keep you guys updated, and I encourage you to give it a look.
-
I'm also in beta playing as a cop. Its pretty cool how you can arrest people, but i haven't figured it out yet.
-
I'm downloading it. Apparently it was developed back in 2004 before it was canned, so my laptop I'm on right now should be able to handle the graphics. What's your impressions? Doing research, I don't have high hopes...
-
its fun but a lot of people are cops and military, so theirs not a lot of criminals.
-
Yea ive got it now alot more cops than criminals, but sure that will change from time to time :)
-
well I downloaded the installer, but I can't get my PC to recognize it or some crap, so I'm still working on the installation.
So who do we have playing, and what are your in-game details? On that note, what faction/whatever should I join when I jump in?
-
Use file planet for download and most of us are FDC.
-
I spent a few hours on this the other night and I must say; I hate it. I won't be playing it anymore, though it was a noble suggestion.
-
Its more of an rpers game, I mean its not my cup of tea either but its something to do why i wait for APB and mortal online to come out.

Played it for two weeks and here is my honest oppinion of the game:
Well the game kinda sucks to be quite honest, it lacks some of the most prime fundementals that a game should have.
such as:
Graphics
Gameplay Directives
Tutorial Help
The game literally from the time you logon to the time you logoff will not make much sense at all. People find this terribly irritating, You must ask other people or read tutorials on websites to find out how to accomplish the basics of the game, which in my oppinion is not a great way to distribute a game (i did enough shadow learning at work).
I don't know if anybody else agrees also, but (it might be something to do with the roleplaying strategies the game has in place) the whole point of the game is to work to build the community, however this may not benefit your character at all but once you get to a certain rank (for example corporal in my case) there is nothing you can do but follow the superiors orders or do objectives until your eyes bleed. If i wanted to stagger to work i would head there right now and start my typing...
Now back onto the Fundemental flaws the game has:
Graphics
Id give this a 5/10 as yea fiar enough the game was released quite a while back and tryed to get funded to make it better for existing players but the graphics for that kind of game and realistic gameplay just lacks for me, and its a real shame because i reckon it could with better effects it would be a great game.
Gameplay Directives
Ive already touched on this issue of there being no help except for the 40 MINUTE TUTORIAL VIDEO given with the game!
Tutorial Help
I have also touched on the Tutorial Above see look up :D
All in all my reviews are totally subjective and shouldn't really be taken to heart, if you love roleplaying games i suggest you look in this direction for about 10 or maybe 15minutes before you get bored. But by all means give it a go.
Thankyou.

After playing this game for quite some time I am going to quit because there in nothing to do but craft, pvp, and rp.
-
Yea now they have brought that premium account establishment within the game, talk about making the same mistakes twice... well we'll see how long that lasts. I still think they should have got sponsorships for the ingame aspects, like on the news boards around tokyo or Newyork. Or even just for their website. But thats just me thinking sanely, instead of being a game distributor and game developer :)
