Title: iPhone
Post by: Heironymus on September 10, 2008, 06:30:59 pm
Whose got one? Who wants one?
Likes, Dislikes?

I found out the other day a jailbroken one allows you to add LoJack data so you can track it even if it stolen..

well looked at these when I bought my Voyager ultimately I found the voyager to be easier to manage and had a few features the iphone didn't have such as 3G but now that's been added to the Iphone although Apple is getting sued for the fact the 3g doesn't perform as it should.  Anyway I'm happy with the voyager.  Cnet rated it above the Iphone so that confirms my thoughts of the voyager being a little better... atleast better than the older model.

Gots one. Likes, I was already an ATT customer.

Things I Like:
Google Maps, while getting lost around Seattle, this made things much better.
Internet/3G, looking up a little info is quiet simple.
Apps, games galore, Pandora radio, and as time progress the apps get better and better.

Things I don't like:
Call dropping, because of the 3G, so unless your in a 3G sweet spot, then again if I'm just calling, I just turn 3G off.
It doesn't react as faster I think it should.

I would go for the 16Gig btw, 8 is nice, but video takes it up quickly, and .9Gig is for the OS already.

I like it.  I got an unlocked one (old 2G version), with plenty of bootleg wares on it.  The games are fun, and I don't own an iPod, so I use it primarily for music and video.  The indoor signal strength can suck depending on your provider.

well.. Friday the new software 2.1 is updating from 2.0.1 and is supposed to fix the 3G not immediatly switching over to EDGE and help extend battery life. Also, it is supposed to fix the app crashing issue that I ran into.

Yes, the 8 is nice but again I should have gone with the 16... I heard rumors that they are releasing a AIDs in Africa RED iphone 16 this Christmas...

btw.. I work for ATT..
and the other day Ron White from blue collar comedy tour came in.. I will post a picture later.. he got the 16 White

I guess I should have said more on that. Battery life and the phone generally suck if you are going in and out of 3G areas. Its perfect if you are always in one or the other. It just so happens to be the 2 areas I hang out most in are right on the cusp of 3G network areas. Also this happens with pretty much any 3G phone not just the iPhone.

This must have been before he was picked up on drug charges.

With the 2.1, no dropped calls today, 3G stayed at 5 bars all day in my apartment, the new extra rings on text are very nice, the phone is a hell of a lot more responsive. And Safari actually caches pages now, making browsing a hell of a lot faster too.

Voyager and the Dare are only available on Verizon.  Verizon uses CDMA phones, like Sprint.

Anyone who buys an iPhone is on a GSM (SIM card required) network (AT&T, T-Mobile).  If they want an touchscreen LG, they'd have to go with the Vu. ;)

wifi email download as pdf... it works that way... or download AIRSHARING.. it was free but now I think it is like 4.99.. it allows your phone or touch to be a wireless harddrive with the ability to view the documents.
