Title: World Of Warcraft
Post by: Eroz on May 02, 2008, 06:28:42 pm
So I am in my English 203: Women in Gaming class and we have to do an ethnography on WoW, and my focus in on character creation and identity, so I need the answers to some questions.

Why did you make the choice you made during your character creation? Did you make it based off your physically appearance, or other reasons?

Do you identify with your character? Is the character an extension of yourself (a fragment of your physical identity) or a separate identity that you are playing?

When you make an online character do you tend to make the same character as you always do, the same name, the same play style or do you make other ones?

I also know that most of these questions can apply to other games, but the paper is specific to WoW. No you don't have to be playing now, but if you have please answer these.

Nope, women really have nothing to do with the class. I know you say but its in the class title, you would think that would make sense but it doesn't. (Note there is a small movement in the class to get the teacher fired because of this and a few other points.)
