Title: List of casual games
Post by: Tbone on March 27, 2008, 02:52:17 pm
What are some games you think we should begin playing as a group (when we're not playing MxO or working on "The Agency" stuff...lol).

Preferably the game should be for the PC, fairly cheap (at least not a monthly fee), and promote teamwork skills.

I remember hearing CS:S and CoD4. I'm looking into a game my brother is currently playing, Mabinogi. I'm only looking into it because it's free and a relatively small download...hehe.

Once we agree on a few games, I'll add them to a list.

Battlefield 2...I'll have to pick up CoD4 for PC.  Great game.

Why don't you guys post the games that you might want to game casually... And in your post name the games that you have.

I pretty much am a lamo and just have CS, which I haven't played for a long while.  Wouldn't mind getting together and sniping Lithium again...

Though I claim dibs on Da6o

I would be up for some Counter-Strike:S.

I would have to reinstall it, though...

I only have CS:S

I'm up for some grouping on there anytime. :)

CoD4 (Own)
Crysis (Own)
Team Fortress 2 (Own)
Battlefield 2142 (Own)
Battlefield 2 (Own)
Counter-Strike: Source (Own)

In that order.

Everyone needs to get Call Of Duty 4.  Quite possibly the most amazing first-person shooter available today.  It feels short on maps, but a map pack is being released shortly.

Crysis (Own)
Battlefield 2 (Own)
Counter-Strike: Source (Own)
Unreal Tournament III (Own)

I'll pick up CoD4 for PC (already have it for 360), and Team Fortress 2 (again, have it for 360) if enough people play it.

COD4
Getting Unreal Tournament III
CS-S
Halo 2 (can actually play with anyone who has it on xbox also.. the game comes with xbox live on the pc)

I don't believe they did the crossover servers w/ Xbox on Halo 2...it seems Shadowrun is the only game that claims that feature.

My problem with Halo 2 is that in order to be able to install/play, you must have Windows Vista.

I'm not buying and installing Vista just for Halo 2.

Sorry, Pirus. :p

I remember reading on the box somthing along the lines of, "Play with Xbox players on XBox Live!".

The technology exist and was started with Halo2 but by the time they released Halo2 they had dropped the feature.

So it requires Vista AND does not feature the advertised crossplay?

Lame.

I'm installing Unreal Tournament III right now.  Wouldn't mind getting some DM or CTF going once I get the hang of it.  Aside from that, I also have UT2k4.

I plan on getting UT3 asap myself.

Didn't like UT3 beta. Love UT2k4

I'm playing wow and Company of Heroes.

Looks like I need to upgrade my graphics card to run UT3 effectively.  Until that happens, I'll be sticking to UT2k4 when not in MxO.

Yeah, UT2k4 is much better than UT3.

I'll play that.

You can pick up UT2k4 on steam for $15, I enjoyed the multiplayer demo back in the day so I'll probably buy it.

Is there a Friend feature for UT3 (Jeyk is my in-game name), or do we have to exchange server IP's when we play?
Title: List of casual games
Post by: Anamodiel on April 01, 2008, 05:08:59 am
I believe that there is a friend feature, but it's very poorly put together.

Worse comes to worse, we could all just get X-fire and log on that whenever we're playing.

X-Fire?

You know we DO have teamspeak?

Agreed!  I like diffusing bombs.  :D

I've actually been having tons of fun with this game in the few short hours that I've owned it.  It's so perfectly simple.

Hmmm I wouldn't mind CS:S or hell, i used to play an old Half-Life Mod called the specialists.

I used to play it with a few older members, don't recall if anyone i used to play with is still here but check it out, http://www.specialistsmod.net/

I'm sure some of you might be interested, although keep in mind it's for Half life, not the Source Engine so it's a little dated.

Edit:

Forgot, here's my Steam ID

For Half-life 1 - Kingkai92@yahoo.com

For  Half-life 2 - ArchNemesis26

I use my bro's account for my Half-life one needs since i'm too cheap to spend $10 to have it on mine :P

I have COD4, too, and you can always find me in TS if I'm playing it.

Seriously, jump in TS whenever you're playing it. We have a channel set up for it already.

i prefer to play on HC server because I am not a fan of that normal retard fest of bunny hopping, sprintingn everywhere, nade spamming, takes half a mag to kill one person crap.

I'll try to remember to jump into TS when I play.
