Title: HP thread
Post by: Heironymus on July 22, 2007, 10:21:05 pm
I figured instead of clogging up the randomness thread with comments about Harry Potter we could instead post in this thread. Allowing for discussion of the new book. Spoilers ARE allowed but put them in a different text color PLEASE...

Anyways:

Is it just me or is Snape supposed to get a Portrait in the headmasters office.. they left that out I think...
^White Text^

I loved the book by the way.

Heironymus, I think everyone was a little busy with other things then putting Snape's portrait in the headmaster's office. Who the hell was Victoria in the epiy?
^Spoilers in white^

Good Book neverless, the movie is going to be DAMN SWEET1!!! 36 hours start to finish (I would have had it in less then 16, but I had to work, and thus sleep.)

It's Victoire, and judging from the French name and the fact that James calls her their cousin, I'd wager to gues it's Bill and Fluer's kid. She'd be about the right age to be in Hogwarts but dating the older Teddy.

Absolutely amazing book. My favorite ever... and the ending was handled beautifully.

I was a little peeved, though, that we never found out the jobs of all the people mentioned in the epilogue now that the Order is pretty much done with...

I'm sure that Ms. Rowling will tell us, someday...

It's mentioned that she might do an encyclopedia-type book for charity that explains all the loose ends the books didn't cover. I hope so.
Possible Spoiler below::

I sure would like to know why that arch in Order of the Phoenix didn't play a bigger part. I kept expecting Sirius to come back, especially with the clue in the movie. I guess you could argue that he "came back" with the Resurection Stone, but that doesn't separate his death from anybody else's. I thought that arch would have played out more.

Yeah lits,

I thought that the resurrection stone would be part of that archway.. making the archway the gateway between the two planes... the way it described bringing people "back" in the same manner they left in the archway... I guess I was wrong..

Heir, Lits wasn't the only one

Yea, the arch really should have had more, I never like the way Sirius "died". It also would have been nice to have a longer epiy, but I did like that it wasn't long too. The story finished with the defeat of Vordy, not what happened after. The thing that I missed the most was that Luna wasn't in the epy. I felt that since she was one of the ones in the Ministry of Mystery that she should be in the epy.
