Title: Respect is Earned, Not Demanded
Post by: Tbone on April 04, 2007, 10:12:38 pm
Just a quick note...

Word through the grapevine is a few people on Recursion aren't getting a good first impression of us because some of us are demanding for players to stop wearing "our" uniform. This is simply unacceptable.

We cannot demand for others to do anything. We are a well established faction, and anyone who has much knowledge of the game associates that uniform with our faction, regardless of who else decides to wear it. We should not be the ones to criticize it if we see it, though - consider it flattery and mutual good taste. I'm sure, in due time, they'll get sick of hearing from OTHER factions and players that it looks like they are trying to be like FA.

Remember, we believe in positive gameplay, and just as we try to be friendly towards each other, let's be friendly towards people outside our faction as well. We're not as well known on Recursion, so it'd be much better to earn these people's respect than to demand it. Thanks.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery in my opinion.

Keep in mind that when you fly under the FA name, everything you say and do both inside the game and outside of it reflects on the rest of us.

All of us wanted to join this faction because we respected the image that it portrays, among other things.  Don't sully that image for current and future members.  :)

Understood Commander. It is our responsibility and privilege to maintain the sparkling name this faction has achieved.

So what you're saying is that I should stop wearing my FA hat and t-shirt with huge "Followtheangel.org" on it all around campus telling people to go fuck themselves??

OK, totally kidding.  I agree this is a serious matter and we all need to act in the mature, respectful manner we always have in game.

That said, if you see someone wearing the whites and they're hostile and flagged, I use it as an excuse to kill them ^_^

Tru dat.

With more of us occupying Recursion anyway the need for others to wear our uniform with the "wrong" name above their heads should die out anyway

Oh-em-gee, that is so not funny!!11!1  Teh matricks iz serios bizness!!  Ur maeking the rest of us look bad!

:p

Actually, I was speaking more along the lines of forum ettiquette and such.  I remember when the Vector Ventrillo server was popular, one or two of our members logged in and went a little overboard with their trash-talk.  It was kind of embarassing.  :S

*Agree 100% with Commander TBone*

Leave the flecktard behavior to the pencil necks in some of the other factions.
