So today I found out that my network administrator didn't change the default password for our Linksys password. Next thing I know I'm in and setting up port forwarding so that MxO wouldn't disconnect (10,000-11,000) and also a port for clear uTorrent traffic. I also tweaked uTorrent for more maximum bandwith. Well, next thing I know, the internet is down. Not just for me but for the whole building. It looks like the router or the internet freaked out from either something I did or the bandwith I was using.
Currently the internet is still down. I'm guessing the router needs a restart. I guess my question is what would cause the freak out? A bandwith cap? Port protection? What can I do to get optimal performance without cutting off my internet at the knees? I don't have access to the physical router, so there's nothing I can do on that end. Hopefully it'll be back up tomorrow.
