Right there seems like a great reason to never go on that server.

A few things that I myself need to say. I have been around long enough and have had dealings with most of the people who are invovled with that Vent, and I can assure you none of them... NONE are friends of FA.
These are people who have hated FA from day one and still hate FA. You may think that you are being cool with them and in return they will be cool with you but let me tell you from experience that is not the case.
I guarantee you they are gathering and hoarding up whatever little tid bits of knowledge that they can on us. IP's, what other members say about fellow members, your likes and dislikes, and anything at all that you speak to them about in general conversation.
They will befriend you and coddle you and then use whatever they gleam from you to beat down on FA. It may not be today or tomorrow but trust me they are digging and finding what they can and saving it up for a day when they decide to throw it all out on the forums. I'm telling you look for posts like this coming out.

I'm telling you all now that they will use whatver you say or do and twist it in a way to bring it back on us. It is only a matter of time.
Having the password as Gabriel is the first little dig and those who have been around long enough know exactly what it means. You can MARK my words on it this is only the start

-Madbent is not humble and at times condescending
-LittleDevil is like a lost child, except old enough to know better
-Mercidos/Desc1ple is a hateful loser
-Apost1e/Felicite/Evasidos is a hateful loser and even younger than mercidos
-Granton/ShaunTaylor88 is from Syntax and wishes he was better at pvp
-Yasamuu is a rather nice chap from Scotland
-Outlaw54 is full of himself
-Urotsukidoji is funny and easy going
-ShadowSK is reserved and passionate about mxo
-Riac is weird
-Hlew88 is weird and very young
-Twaggy is loud and crass
-Jiinx is british and level headed, would prefer it if cyphs were hostile to all from an RP standpoint
-TheRedPhoenixx has a very cockney accent and is playful
-Akuryu is nice, but a bit clueless
-IcedOut is kind of what I would consider the definition of an average MxO player
-Rxu is genuinely nice and funny
-Garutachi seems to have alot of experience, but that could just be the way he talks (not like a dumbass)
-Smoke is actually a decent guy, why he hangs out with the bad crowd I have yet to find out.
-Boboshanti/Kemmet is a pothead who tries to be nice but ends up making an ass of himself
Generally no surprises. Most of the people really do suck at life and I pity them greatly. I suppose I enjoy logging in to see what life what be like if I failed at everything.

Haha, if Dagonet is taking notes, you know they are. Some of you may think Broin sounds paranoid, but history shows us that any slip up will be used against us. It may seem innocent at the time, but just wait...want an example?
Today I was directed to a cached page of an old site called HypeYourJunk.com (the site no longer exists). It was created by Dapharmer and other anti-FAs to flame us to their heart's content without having to worry about bannings, lockings, or deletes. At one point, one of our members created an account there to speak his mind on a thing or two.
The page I was directed to today shows a post from said member talking about how he hates FA and only likes one guy in FA, the one who gave him the LESIG list. It then posted an old leak of the LESIG list. It was made to look like one of our members leaked it to another member who then posted it in our enemy's forums. In reality, Dapharmer, the admin of the site, accessed this member's account and posted for him, after getting the leaked information from TetraCleric. Somehow this didn't surface until now, which is good, because if it would have surfaced at the time it was posted, it would have been quite a hassle.
Second example. A high-ranking member created an account at an opposing faction's website just to comment on how the site looked nice or something like that. The faction seemed innocent enough, as was the reason for making the account, but one of the admins of that site liked to hack for fun. There's a pretty simply way to break a hash of a password when you have the right access, and unfortunately this member used the same password for the opposing faction's website as he did for ours. The hacker was innocent enough, but he bragged to the wrong person about having access. Suddenly he found himself blackmailed into giving away FA intel to none other than Trucidos in exchange for Truc keeping quiet about something that could have gotten him banned from MxO. Luckily we discovered it and corrected the problem. Later the hacker even sent a formal apology - I guess he grew to like us while reading some of our posts...heh.
Are you seeing a pattern here yet? An enemy creates something that is seemingly innocent and maybe even widely used, and an FA member falls into a trap. Information IS collected and things are manipulated against us. If you need proof, Magnus is the same guy who constantly made fun of the fact that I was affected by Hurricane Katrina. He's not above attacking your personal life, and an IP address is a good start. Even without the fear of those kind of attacks, FA is the number one target for flames. Hopefully you could make a few friends, but most typically someone is going to try to egg on a fight with you to make FA look bad. It really is better for everyone if we avoided the server. The reason I haven't said anything yet is because I'm assuming the Vent server will be dead in a matter of days - these things usually don't last too long.

Also just a head up to you newer members if someone is giving us crap on the boards dont respond in any way shape or form no matter how offending it is to you or the faction, this usually results in them getting madder but they will get over it.

Trucidos claims that he never blackmailed the hacker. Trucidos' version of the story, the hacker was more than happy to give over screens of our boards and told us he was blackmailed to take the blaim off him and put it on Trucidos.
Trucidos the innocent! lol

this is one of my greatest fears, some lunatic taking a game and deciding to meddle in people's life for real. I personally have no desire to let some of the idiots in this game know anything about me although Dag's crib sheet did make great reading!

I have no need for someone to do something to my IP like that; my dad is already protective enough, and if I were to do something like that and get screwed with, I wouldn't ever be able to play MXO again.

I was on yesterday and heard Obsolete saying that he has an alt that he is trying to get through our challenge. He then went on to make some comments about every FA member receiving a purple dildo upon being accepted to the faction. Y'know, the top-drawer comedy that only Obsolete can bring to the table.
Anyway, his voice isn't hard to pick out. Even so, from the sound of him, he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of making it to the interview process.
And what Broin said is absolutely true. The people that frequent this Vent are people that have hated FA for a long time, and love trying everything they can to bring us down. If you decide to go on the Vector Ventrillo, I would recommend only going to listen. You will hear people taking cheap shots at FA. Don't respond. They want to get a reaction from you. Don't give them what they want. Just learn to take pleasure in having the will power to not play their game.

i've only been in there twice just to listen to how uneducated they are for lack of a better word. Also i have virus protection with NOD32 which is supposed to be pretty good so i'm not to worried but don't plan on gettin there to much anyway. I like my factions TS just fine, no unwanted loudmouth idiots that i can't mute or have desire to. Just good friends and fun in TS so no worries here. :D

well in TS all i have to do is right click your name and click "Get connection details" I dont know if that is an admin only thing or not.

IP addresses=big whop. Most of you have dynamic IPs anyways.
(That means it changes)
So while they may be able to do a trace route and find your local node, I wouldn't worry about anyone breaking into your computer simply with an IP.

Personally, I'm interested just to listen in and see what I can hear. If anyone can keep her mouth shut and ears open it's me. Tbone recommened that we stay away... does that mean it's an order? Because I won't go against an order for any reason, but I'm still very curious.
