Title: Requesting assistance
Post by: Manic Velocity on June 22, 2006, 12:48:15 am
I check our recruitment thread (http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/matrix/board/message?board.id=recruiting&message.id=17) every day, and I post in it at least every two days just to keep it from getting pushed off the first page.  On top of the standard "Follow the angel", I try to maintain a steady flow of inspirational quotes that run along the lines of angels, truth, awakening, puzzles, etc.

But I fear my "Quote Well" is running a bit dry lately.  It occured to me that I was reaching pretty far with my last post in that thread.

If more of us started posting in our recruitment thread again, it would help to show that we're still a large faction, even if some of us are more active than others.

Any help would be appreciated.  I know I can't be the only one who wants to support the best faction in the game!   :D

How about we compile slogans here, and take turns posting them.  That way we can weed out the crap ones and make sure we don't insult any other factions ("Join the best Zion faction ever" etc etc)

Well I put "There are things that go bump in the night. We are the ones who bump back."

...ugh...guys, let's try and not copy movie quotes... -.-

Let's try and be original...Hellboy (as kick ass a movie as it is) doesn't have anything to do with Furious Angels.

Things spoken in Latin, or biblical references, or things of that nature involving Angels would probably be the best bet. But, if you want to do your own thing, that's cool. Just making a suggestion :D

The majority ("majority" meaning "entirety") of my quotes come from here (http://www.thinkexist.com).  You can register a free account and compile your favorite quotes for later reference.

Lits, I think you mean: "An angel's art is the furiousness..." (Or ferocity) "...of the heart." :)

Nope, it's a quote from... um... someone, I forgot the name, but it's correctl. Save for the spelling error, lol. Okay, THIS is copied and pasted:

"An angel's art is the ferociousness of the heart."

ooOOOoo!!! I so claim this one:

"...I died as an animal and arose a man.
Why then should I fear to become less by dying?
I shall die once again as a man
To rise an angel..."

Hrm.. I fear if we use too much Biblical references, people will start to see us as a Christian-based faction.

Perhaps we should limit the Biblical quotes to a small number and keep the allusions to God and the Lord, etc. out of it alltogether. The Furious Angels work for Zion.

I'll be sure to start posting in this thread every day as soon as I get back. I can't get on the MXO site because I'm on a 56k, but I will as soon as I get back.

Posted.

I was worried that all of us posting in the thread might have looked daft but it's actually really cool to see all of us with a unique slogan :D

Just as an aside, try to fit "Follow the angel..." somewhere in your posts, since it really does mean something to the challenge and isn't just something cool we say.  :)

Thanks again for your help, guys!
