Title: Save the Internet

Side-note: I don't know how many of you read CAD or *-bit, but thats where I got these links from.

Another side-note: I know we should never really push any kind of politics in the faction, but I personally feel that this issue could and will affect us all on this side of the pond and we should have the right to know about it before it happens

So how many of you have been reading about the Net Neturality issues that Congress is trying to push through. Well if you haven't you should take a look at http://www.savetheinternet.com/ Basically Congress is trying to make it so major corparations (like AT&T, Comcast, /Internet Service Providers) would have the right to slow or block internet content at their own disgression.

Does this fall under a gray area of a monopoly? What can we do to help?

That really sucks and is completely unethical. I'll spread the word about this to my American friends.

But they have their facts blown out of proportion about Canada lol. First of all, no one uses Telus Internet in Canada. :p I never knew they even provided Internet. Telus can't be our version of AT&T because AT&T Internet is big, Telus Internet is not. Secondly, I have no idea what's going on with Shaw. Charging someone extra for using a competitor isn't good. Regardless, Shaw isn't the main cable company in Canada, so you have a choice to avoid Shaw completely.

More info...... I love snopes. They take urban legends and research them to determine if they're true or false. Very reliable.
