Okay here is the link to the rough draft of the movie... It's a bit big 164 megs and I'm working on scaling that down... The quality isn't that great but I'm still working on it.

ZOMG TEH 1!!!!
On a less random note, downloading video now.
-
That was freakin sick! Great job for a rough copy I can only imagine what the final product will be.
-
...
broin...

-
whoa you may be like the first person to be agent hunter cause everyone else with that many posts has a title....
ive had every title except agent hunter and staff.. I even had spammer for awhile.
-

-
WOW! V-Nice Broin!!!
hehe I got my ass kicked for a reason other than PVP !! woot! :P
Lookin forward to the finished product.

Damn, that video is so badass. Honestly though, I think the slo mo is a little overdone in some parts. If you use it less, it adds more emphasis on the really cool looking moves like at the end and stuff. But, that's just my opinion.
-
My only criticism is that between 0:29 and 0:42 the pacing of the cuts seems just a tad bit rushed, but I understand the effect you were trying to go for. The elevator door transition felt especially choppy.
The music between 1:36 and 2:51 sounded a little too quiet.
The speed changes on the run, shoot, hyperjump scene on the creston heights building between 0:57 and 1:15: pure fucking genius, matching the gunshots to the music added an excellent touch that I don't think anyone else's video is going to have.
I tought I've been all over the Matrix, but I still have no clue where Fuse did his phone call scene.
Everyone is going to wonder how we did the side-view, slo-mo hyperjump shot. Will anyone have the heart to tell them that it involved a mysteriously floating SMG?
-
I have to say the music fit perfectly with Arch leading the pack in slowmotion chasing Lithium I loved that part. Is it possible to put sound effects in the final fight?
-
Broin, the baby having must start now. I had to hold myself back from applauding when the film ended.
Few comments:
1. I mirrored this over at http:///www.xtcg.co.uk/FA-CodeFury.wmv for anyone having trouble downloading it (will be up in 10 minutes)
2. The corridor scene at the beginning? Teh SECKS
3. The bullet holes were a very good idea on the screen, but they're the wrong way round so my first thought was "why is someone shooting the screen from my side" :P It still works though
4. Credits needed at the beginning... or maybe even some subtitles to explain why the fight broke out...?
5. Excellent bullet-time effects
6. A few times it looked like the characters were stood still and waiting to advance forward, could be edited easily enough though.
Broin, you are TEH man.
-
Destyn we have never used subtitles or credits except for the final follow the angel at the end. That will be included on the final cut.
Also the version you put on your server keep in mind is not final. Do not share it with anyone outside the faction. Make sure it gets overridden when the new version comes out later today.

I would love to one day do a voiceover story, allthough I'm a HUGE fan of just having the music overlays.
My absolutle FAVORITE part was the Diving Frakenstein and then the huge Silver Bullett in the background. AWESOME SHOT!Also the way you do the zoon into the room and turn around and the bad guys are already there. That was very well done.
-
The ONLY thing i can think of about the movie that REALLY bothers me... is the end. It's just abrupt... and that's it...
I can't really place what would belong there... maybe the typical FA "Fly off" shot or something...
-
Wickedly sick video Broin!! Although I wish I were actually IN the damn thing
It's the cutting room floor for me I suppose.
If you haven't trashed them already could you post some of the scenes you shot but didn't use in the video?
-
*cough*Blooper reel*cough*
I think the best thing about all of the FA videos is they make people think "How did they do that?" I remember thinking it when watching the original FA video for the first time, then we raised a few eyebrows with the Halloween video. I said it yesterday and I'll say it again, if SOE doesn't consider this video, then their expectations are entirely too high.
As for the slow motion "flying angels" scene, I think that is one that should be kept very much under the fedora. It was a unique opportunity that we were fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of. If too many of Broin's filming secrets get out in the open, then they will become common-place, and will lose their luster. That and it will become increasingly difficult to find ways to make any other videos stand out among the rest.
I'm having a hard time concentrating at work because I keep playing this video over and over in my head!
-
Arch, this is just the rough draft. He will be adding in our tittle and I imagine a more smoothed ending for the final cut.
I have also hosted this on my WEB/FTP server.
http://fuse.gotdns.com/FA/FA-CodeFury
(you will have to add .wmv to the filename after you download. I did this so I could DL it at work.) Under FTP check the FAWeb folder.

Yeah I don't tell anyone anything on how we get some of our shots...
I have recieved several /t's from other friendly factions and people I know in game that I rely on for information about how we do things. I simply chalk it up as Faction info that can't be given out. I figure I/we spend alot of time in game searching out locations and figuring out how to do what we want. There is no sense in giving someone a let up on us. Do the work reap the rewards

Never have maybe, doesn't make it easier to understand ;) Just thinking about the other vids I've seen, they usually have a narrative.
Yes I will of course update with the next version, it's only there to help share bandwidth. Directory browsing isn't available there anyway so users would have to be specifically looking for the file. If you wish I can place it in a password protected folder though...?
-
I love the flying part, there were 2 parts near the end of the fighting were you can tell you clipped out a few seconds of film maybe you can find a way to smooth those out, I will say the time of those parts when i get back to make posts and the end if really abrupt that is all for now. Otherwise 5 stars for you!

i WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE WHAT bROIN CAN DO WITH THE CAMERA THING IF WE CAN GET IT TO WORK ON HIS COMPUTER. i'VE GOTTEN SOME VERY UNIQUE SHOTS WITH IT, AS i'VE MENTIONED MANY TIMES BEFORE.

giggidy giggidy alllllllllriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

Why is the file still insanely huge? 4 min = 144 MB. I guess it's for the high res?
-
<===== Downloading at 13.5 kb/s. 2 hours 18 minutes and counting.... *:bangs head on wall:*
-
Yeah on the size it was the best I could do to get it all in with good quality and still be able to compile it without the system crashing. It started out as 174 megs and at one time I thought I had it down to about 90 but it kept crashing. I chose a different codex and it worked. I literally have spent since 5 pm yesterday trying to get this to work and finally got it worked out at about 5pm today, 12 hours. I have only got like 6 hours sleep in the past 72 hours.
On another note I'd like to say thanks to everyone who participated and helped in making the movie. There were tons of great shots and scenes that just didn't make it in, for various reasons. Either the light didn't match, the scene didn't flow right, etc. The rule of thumb for me is that for every second of actual photage that makes it in I shoot about 10 or sometimes alot more Megs of photage. The total for this film on hard drive space for photage is 62 Gigs out of 144 MB of the final version... :D
Again a big thanks to everyone and I hope you all enjoy how it came out... We will see if SOE likes it in a few days. Keep your fingers crossed
-
I think we got it.
Unless, of course, Jerry Bruckheimer, Yuen Wo-Ping, and Ryuhei Kitamura joined The Collective while we weren't looking.
-
Breathtakingly beautiful! :) Amazing job!
Is it just me, or does it freeze just before the subway scene? I kept replaying it and it keeps freezing at the same spot.
EDIT: Okay it WAS just me. I just overclocked my computer and now it runs smoothly. :)

Hey Orien I like your side Icon... Johnny Cash, Walk The Line. By the way the next movie I do will be using Johnny Cash's version of 9 Inch Nails song 'Hurt'....
No fight scenes just pure imagery and emotion on the next one....
-
Broin, it looks great. I whs I could do this type of stuff. I wish I had the HD space/Videocard/Skill in software.
Everyone ont he forums love it.
-
Yeah, we need to get this and the Halloween video on the Media section of the Potential site!
-
There is another video and they did something interesting.. they recorded voices and added them into there video so when they were "talking" over the phone you heard voices...
But on another note... AMAZING video... for some reason it "lags" when I play it on Media player and DivX... I don't know why... but still great video

Yeah it was. His likeness and performance was comparable to Jamie Fox's in Ray. Very creepy and well done.
-
Used two songs Arch... the first minute was the first part of 'Fortune plango vulnera' which in on the same album second cut of the CD
-
Hey Destyn thansk for the mirror. We should be AOK though. Had a chat with my server admin. He up my account to 300gigs so we should be set. But if we run into problems I know you have a mirror.
-
Awesome Broin thanks ^_^
-
np Lith, if necessary faction can use the mirror my side to ease from all the other factions watching it through the main site :D
And being totally jealous, of course. Mwahahahaha.
