I have recently picked up another addition to my growing nerdage. A friend of mine has introduced me to the Versus System, also known simply as “VS”. It’s the latest CCG from Upper Deck, and its great fun. Now I know there is a lot of distaste for games such as Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, (a distaste that I share), I would liken VS to the maturity level of Magic sooner than I would another game. Here’s the kicker though, the entire game centralizes around Marvel and DC characters for the cards. In fact, Upper Deck will be releasing the Green Lantern series this next week or so.

I currently have about seven different decks built with the cards that I have, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Friends (Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher), Sinister-Syndicate (Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Green Goblin), League of Assassins/Arkham Inmates (two different sets of Batman bad-guys), and my personal favorite, which is a mix of Sentinels and Gotham Knights (Batman and others).

LMAO grim...  See i am not the only one that sees the resemblance.  I just got to ask you what kind of ship are you running there?  Gerbils and slaves, what else is going on your ship, and how do i join!   :P

yeah ive seen versus. im not too impressed. my game is Raw Deal. www.comicimages.com/rawdeal/ its based on the WWE Wrestling Franchise, and despite the antics and cheesiness u might assume if your not a wrestling fan, its actually one of the most serious CCGs out there. i believe it is currently the 3rd best selling CCG in the world behind MtG and Yugioh. both games have copied quite a bit off of raw deal too. like the whole sideboard concept on MtG came from RawDeal's "backlash deck". i believe yugioh has something similar too. Yugiohs deck masters or whatever it is concept also came from RawDeal. if ur into CCGs u shud try it out some time. ive got all the software u need to play online for free. give me a hollar and ill teach you.
