Title: My mouse cursor is invisible, or does not move
Post by: Anonymous on May 15, 2005, 05:39:19 am
I had this happen yesterday in game, and mentioned it on teamspeak, and apparently others have run into it as well. I played with many different controls to
try to get it unstuck, and finally noticed something happen using 'CTRL-Q', I pressed it a couple times, and finally got control of my mouse cursor back. after ccr'ing it and looking into it some more, seems the devs are aware, and their response is as follows:

"Answer:
Some players may be able to unstick the mouse by hitting CTRL-Q or by right clicking.

Most commonly, however, this issue is caused by an out-of-date version of DirectX or from old video drivers. Please update to the latest version of DirectX and get the latest version of your video card's drivers."

although my drivers are up to date.... anyway, figured id share it with all of you, just in case you run into it, you can try hitting 'ctrl-q' a couple times to try and get unstuck until they fix it, it's a lot better than having to alt-f4 out. :)

Yeah, thats been around since .. well a long time if I remember.
CTRL-Q has something to do with free-look or errr... I can't remember...

The problem used to occur for me due to my key settings. I would HJ (CTRL-Space) then try moving quickly (W); but my finger is still on "CTRL", so CRTL-W. Anyway, bingo - mouse dodgey.

So try that - CTRL-W to make mouse dodgey, CTRL-Q to sort out. In other words, watch your key presses to avoid it!

I had the same problem a couple days ago.  CTRL-Q did nothing.

But CTRL-Esc minimized MxO and brought me to my desktop.  When I maximized the game back into full view, the cursor returned to normal.

yeah, I had to press CTRL-Q a few times till I noticed my name shrink and go back, I tried going out of the game by pressing start (same as ctrl-esc) and also alt tabbing out, as well as forcing the task manager by ctrl-alt-del, after all three I went back in and mouse arrow was still gone.
