try power cycling everything.
1.turn off all computers and turn off the surge protectors etc.
2.unplug modem and router
3.wait 10 seconds from unplug and then plug in modem let it fully boot up
4.plug in router let fully boot up
5.turn computers back on

i know that i helped grim(at least i think it was her) out by telling her to do this. She was experiencing slow net to.

yeah that was when i first got DSL at home, but that didn't fix it for me. don't remember what did. it was too long ago. we would go cable at home, but the cable provider for the area sucks balls, as in you can be watching a tv show, and a storm in another state causes the cable to go out. explain that one to me. unfortunately, their internet isn't any better. a storm comes along and you may as well not have internet, which is rediculous. plus my step-dad decided to ditch cable and get satellite, which isn't much better, but there are 900 more crappy channels with nothing on. and DSL was just made available in my hole in the ground town less than a year ago ... so .... yeah ... meh!

Sounds like a node has died on their exchange... either that or they just made a whole load of connections in your area and attached to the same node, if you are not infected with anything.

Try doing a repair on your ethernet connection through windows. It does stuff like purges DNS cache and the like. It could be one of your DNS routing tables have corrupted, and it's trying to go through a bad connection. I'd tell you how to do it via the command prompt, but the commands seem to escape me at the moment

Try to exploi... nevermind.

/ccr? ;) :p j/k But seriously, call your ISP. If they want your business (duh) then they'll go out of their way to help you (they gave me a modem upgrade for free when they noticed I had an old version when I had them over to check out my cable TV problem).
