Hey guys, I know tons of you are talented in all sorts of editing software. I've accepted to work on some filming projects, which in turn need to be burned to dvd-r's and cd-r's. I was curious...what is your guys' favorte software for ripping audio/video information from dvd's? I figure that is the best way for me to try to burn only the audio from the dvd's to the cd-r's. I have premiere to do video touch-up before burning the dvd. Thanks for your input!

There are a few good guides out there on the net. Just punch in "DVD Ripping Guide" to Google or something like that.
I used to know a couple of websites, but I don't seem to have them bookmarked anymore.

On a familiar note, but not waniting to make a new thread, what hardware specs are recommended for Premiere Pro. I got 7.0, but I get incredible lag when playing back video, making editing nearly impossible. Currently I'm running an Athlon XP 1.4Ghz, 768MB RAM, and a GeForce Fx5200 128MB. It's good enough to smoothly run, um... certain games, why not video editing.

I use a program called Magic DVD Ripper. It can encode into many different formats/codecs and is very easy to use. Slim to nil quality loss- I have a registered version 2.2 that I may be able to upload and help ya out registering it, but you can get the latest (v3.0) here http://www.magicdvdripper.com
If you need a serial for it, I might be able to help you with that as well.

yeah usually these ripping tutorials link me to like virtual dub and all these other ripping/encoding crap..an all in one soluition like that magic dvd rip would interest me very much...
I want to make 700mb or 1400mb(two 700mb files) for my vids and pass 'em thru an divx/xvid encode with no qpel or pcm for my philip's dvp642 dvd player that plays blank cds with .avi files on them as well as anything else.. it's on amazon.com's top 10 hotlist.
